Most of the times I never pickup up calls from unknown number. If urgent and legit people will text or leave voice mail.

Police will never call by phone. Only postal mail or in person

Iam getting every day callls like this first thing I do I disconnect the call and block misltly atnt shows scam calls so I don’t pick it up

I appreciate you guys sharing this. I was going to become a victim for it back in 2019 December. While I was sharing all the information with the 2nd person, my wife was super smart to immediately google and find these could be scams. I got out of it then. But scary, they won’t let you think. They would say you are going to be arrested, under surveillance, etc.

I received an email package from the IRS to return the child benefits as it was processed before I initiated ITIN. I received follow up mail to return it sooner or else heavy interest was charged on 2000$. . .I paid it in 2018, later in 2023 only I realized it was a scam.

Thanks for sharing Prem. I got calls like this so may times. They tried to call me back when I disconnect in-between and try to threaten more saying why ru disconnecting the call and u don't understand the seriousness and call. I tried replying saying I didn't order anything

I got email from closing department (as title company) asking to wire the closing amount just 2 days before closing my home. It looked so real and it had all details about my new home. They requested to wire the amount within 12 hours else my closing will be delayed. Since I’m very clear that I wont wire the amount and prefer the cashiers check they stopped the communication. Our personal data might got leaked from lender, realtor, seller etc. so be careful while purchasing the home.

I paid $800 2013 in Minneapolis by i94 scam. They do not let you disconnect the call and I send money to Delhi. After that I filed complaint in FBI but no update

I use google pixel phone. It always gives me warning about spam numbers.. you also have an option of screen call. Where Robo can talk behalf of you...

Scammers always have only 3 routes. 1. Intimidation/fear 2. Greed 3. Sympathy Just watch out if you are being played for any of these 3 and you should be alright. Techniques will change as time goes by. But all techniques would try to manipulate you only thru these 3 emotions, which will stop victims from thinking straight.
