The cuberdons or neuzekes as we like to call em are supposed to have a sugary harder on the outside and have a sirop Center in my opinion the outside is the best the inside is sweeter

Yes it is supposed to have a thin hard outer layer and be very soft inside (jelly consistency). Unfortunately the inside gets a lot harder after a couple of weeks as the surgar hardens quite quickly. You can only keep them fresh for about 3 weeks and that's the reason it's not a product that can be exported. They are (mostly) only sold in Belgium. Seeing as these were about two months old you probably could damage your teeth on them :p

Fun fact : Chocolate, beer and “french” fries are the best and invented in Belgium. People call it french fries because Belgium has 3 languages dutch (we call it flemish but it’s a dialect of dutch.)and in Belgium some people speak german to. But we speak french to so people who came to belgium thought they were in france cause of the language. So that’s why everyone call it french fries but their actually from Belgium 💕🇧🇪

Wrong, French fried are called 'french' because they were invented in France. I think on or near Paris. However, these fries really became famous when a Belgian visited France and took the idea back to Belgium. Here i' Belgium they perfected the fries and made them more delicious. They then become a part of our Belgian culture.

You definitely know how to eat speculoos~ And Amanda does good to mention ice cream because there is actual ice cream with speculoos flavore. I personally can not eat it without dipping it into milk. For the cuberdons, I don't know about original because I had cheap one but it was not supposed to be that hard and you are missing what is inside, which is more...slimy? Manneken-Pis is VERY important in our capital (Brussels) It is indeed said that he saved our town by peeing on a starting fire, they make all sort of stuff out of it but this is actually a statue, peeing 24h/7 like a fountain and during every event such as christmass, people dress that little boy with related clothes. There is one day during the year when he pees BEER (because beer is also a thing in this country) I would have liked to make a reaction video but I don't have s ingle clue how those stuff work XD

The real Cuberdons are really quite hard on the outside. It's better to bite from the bottom, the tip is very thick.

Belgium, yeah! And the way you said to dip Speculoos in coffee, that's what we do here as well with 'em. Just dip 'em in Coffee (and if you want to have that as breakfast or lunch, put in on a piece of bread) and enjoy I would say

I was thinking the same thing. It's not like they "presented" the chocolate that way for nothing. When I first went to Belgium, I made it a point to see Manneken Pis, which the country has referred to it as "the emblem of the rebellious spirit of the City of Brussels".

Very good job at trying all those amazing treats from Belgium! It brings back so many memories! Thank you for doing this.....thank you, thank you!!!!!

loved Belgium when I was stationed there with the USAF. My daughter was born in Mons. Cannot wait to go back one day.

After I will have visited Belgium next year, there will be NO chocolate left ^^

Annika Elstermann Most people in Brussels speak French. One thing that I love about Brussels is that there's a unique dialect there which mixes Dutch with French. It's flippin' amazing.

Hahaha, artisanal cuberdons go bad after two weeks. They're normally quite soft. There's a store-bought kind with preservatives, but they're not as good, obviously.

Yes you should! They are always hard on the outside, so the ones in de video are not bad at all, in the middle there is a filling

2:55 its hard on the outside bit then gelly on the insidr

In the Netherlands we have speculoos icecream in tubs (like ben & Jerry’s but with speculoos). And we have speculoos pasta (same consistency as chocolate paste).

Im from Holland and i ate all these foods at least once a week

Makeupbyperseus stroopwafel are indeed Dutch wafels.. but of if they are made with Belgian chocolate in a Belgian factory they will say made in Belgium. 🤗 We don't take our chocolate lightly ... we are proud of it! *holds flag in the hand* 😁 Belgians hate Belgium. Hey Matthias and Amanda! I recently discovered your video content and i was glad i stumbled on this one :) Belgium is the place to be for foodies, and we got a ton more nice candy to taste. The cuberdon is very known here in Belgium and we also call them red noses. They were supposed to be soft and a little gewy on the inside. Wish you guys the best! I AM belgian xD i speak french, the other half part speak dutch and a little bit of german, but the most popular language is french because most of the dutch speak french too

The cuberdons are usually filled with a jelly-ish inside, while the outside is a tiny bit harder.

I am from Belgium but I was born in Scotland and all my family is from Belgium, but thanx for liking all the Belgium foods they are all awesome

The boy is like a national statue and it's really important to us. That's why you see lots of them. It also depends which part you went to. In Brussel you will see lots and lots of those. :p It's kind of like the statue of Liberty is to New York.
