Actually he had been put in jail at the age of four because of some kind of game of thrones. They kept him in jail 50 years! After 50 years, when he was 54, his time had come to take the throne. After being released and taking the crown, he killed all remaining family members as a revenge.

The lyrics of this song was based on a true story of 25th Sultan of Ottoman Empire. Sultan Osman the 3rd was prisoned in a Cage when he was 4 years old and forced to stay there 50 years by his brothers.Then he became a Sultan and he died 3 years later.

A bit about the song Lions in a cage in order for you to make sense of it. The third Osman, who is the subject of the song, lived a cage life for 51 years. In cage life, the princes are isolated from the outside, waiting to either die of natural causes or to ascend to the throne one day. Because they are news from the world, they usually do not succeed in state affairs when they come to the throne, instead of them, the viziers (the top rank state man who had a big influence in the running of the state) take care of the state affairs. It is forbidden to have children in their cage life. The purpose is to keep the number of princes and not to cause a possible struggle for the throne.
