Hampir diseluruh indonesia, inilah budaya kami. Menawarkan makanan seperti nasi, atau sekedar makanan kecil kepada orang lain, baik itu ke sesama orang indonesia ataupun orang asing... Siapapun orang nya, kalau dia baik dan sopan maka kita akan jauh lebih baik melayani mereka. Kalau di negara lain, senyum dengan sembarang orang akan terlihat aneh dan menakutkan. I want to tell you guys, we in Bali also have many religious holidays (especially Hindu). One of them is Nyepi or Silence Day. Nyepi is a New Year celebration for us (Balines) who use the Saka (Caka) calendar. 3 days before Nyepi Day, Balinese people will hold a cleaning or purification ceremony for statues or objects that we consider sacred along the beaches in Bali, which we call Melasti. And 2 or 3 months before Nyepi Day or Silence Day is celebrated, we (young Balinese people) have started preparing Ogoh-ogoh, or a large statue made of wood, woven bamboo and styrofoam carved into the shape of a scary creature or Hindu mythological creature. the evil one. And these ogoh-ogoh will be paraded around villages and towns in Bali on Pengerupukan night or 1 day before Nyepi. This ogoh-ogoh will be paraded throughout villages and cities in Bali and will be burned at the end of the event, the aim is that the negative energy that the ogoh-ogoh absorbs during the ogoh-ogoh procession will return to positive energy for the continuity of the Nyepi Celebration on the following day. Then on Nyepi Day (D-Day of Nyepi) starting from 6 am to 6 am tomorrow, all activities throughout the island of Bali will be stopped, there will be no internet (mobile), no shops open, no light and prohibited from leaving the house. In fact, during Silence Day, the island of Bali is like a dead island (city) for one day. So if you go to Bali during Silence Day, please prepare food and drink supplies for 24 hours, because you will be prohibited from leaving the house, no shops will be open, there will be no lights, no noise will be allowed. All activities will stop for a full 24 hours, all roads will be quiet, even airports will be closed for 24 hours, except for hospitals. So if there is an emergency, please contact Pecalang (local police) to help. Okay, I hope you understand what I'm explaining. If there are any additions, please add them. Thanks for the amazing reaction. Now you know the main character of Indonesian people. They're very welcome to almost everything. That is why, when Buddha came, it is easily accepted, but then they will adapted it and implement Indonesian culture into it. That's why you find the Buddhist in Indonesia is practically so different than it is in Tibet or India. Same thing with Hindu, Indonesian accepted it easily, but again, they don't just get rid of Buddha, instead they will combine them into a new type of religion called Shiva-Buddha which becomes the Indonesian Hindu today that still practiced by the majority of Balinese people. Everything looks so different than the Hindu in India. During the Srivijayan era, the King even build two huge temples; Borobudur for Buddha, Prambanan for the Hindus (Shiva). Then, Islam came, again very easily accepted and is now become the main religion for most of the Indonesian people. But, it is practically different to what you will see in Arab. Because Indonesian will never leave their main culture and traditions for any purposes. Instead, they'll blend them together. In the past, most of our mosques look quite similar to Hindu temple (Indonesian Hindu) with three level of roofing as the representation of holy mountains. Today, no matter what religion we are going with, our culture will always be by our side. You can be a Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, or Islam, but you must your own identity as an Indonesian. And that identity is your very own culture based on what your ancestors inherited to you in your own land or island.

Come to Indonesia. Seeing many gorgeous locations directly in Indonesia will surely blow you mind. The video is excellent but seeing it directly will even grander.

Yep leaving on the 18th to west java, from a 4 year absence. The reason the geography is the way it is, is that its still in the mountain building process and will be happening for millions of year yet. A massive fault system runs through the centre of Sumatra, west, central and east Java broken up in a few places but essentially appears to be the same fault.
