Americans In for a Filipino Food Surprise! Camiguin Island
What a great surprise! We were treated to a full Filipino meal to welcome us to Camiguin Island. The food was delicious with pansit and many other Filipino dishes. We are grateful to Villa Paraiso Resort to make such a great meal for us.
We also enjoyed a great lunch at La Dolce Vita Italian Restaurant, which is directly across the street from the airport. We were hungry after our long day of travel and the pizza and specialty drinks hit the spot. After lunch, we went to see our room at the resort.
Camiguin Island is a small island in Northern Mindanao, Philippines, and is a spectacular place to be. With its 14 volcanos covered in tropical greenery, its beautiful islands and beaches, from its spectacular waterfalls to the coral reefs, is why we say: "Camiguin, Isle Be There!"
We are excited to spend a week on this beautiful island discovering every part of the island. In this video, we capture our journey from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila to the small Camiguin Airport. The only way to fly there is on Cebu Pacific from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Thankfully, we were able to enjoy airport lounges in both Manila and Cebu which made the travel day so much better and easier for our kids.
When we first caught sight of the incredible Camiguin Island, we were blown away instantly by the beauty. The large volcanos towering over the deep-blue ocean below create a picturesque sight. The land is so lush and full of coconut trees and the beaches and corals can easily be seen from the plane. It was exciting to fly over White Island (featured in our thumbnail) and Mantigue Island, knowing that we would be visiting both places this week. We can hardly wait for our adventures and to take you along with us. Come find out why you should come to Camiguin and then "Come Again!"

Guimaras is an island province and no longer part of Iloilo Province! Guimaras was proclaimed as a regular and full-pledged province on May 22, 1992 after a plebiscite was conducted to ratify the approval of its conversion pursuant to Section 462 of R.A. 7160.

14:26 Benny Jaw Drop 14:33 "If only we drank wine..." It's been more than 10 years since I was last there, so I can see the resort's expanded since. I still remember the pool and tennis court. I've been to Camiguin twice! First time was a summer vacation with cousins and sibs hosted by my grandma (who was working there at the time). My cousins, sibs, an uncle, and I stayed at one of the ground floor rooms at the same building as the front desk (which was enclosed at the time). We went to a lot of places (like Mantigue Island; will comment when I that vid, Sunken Cemetery, the church ruins, the hot spring, etc.), and I still have pictures of that trip! Second time was with the whole family (I have a large extended family) for a cousin-once-removed's wedding. Sadly, I didn't enjoy that trip as much because of a bad stomach flu (and wedding plans not going as expected). :( But the Green Church (colloquially named for its environmentally-friendly interior) where the wedding was held was interesting. Oh, and Happy Birthday Joe!

The big salad spoon is meant to be a serving spoon. The Filipino way of eating is "salo-salo," or family style. Everything is big in serving and placed in the middle with a serving spoon so the family can taste and share everything. Have fun!

You can visit the Torres resort in naic cavite very2 nice resort all the family well enjoy.
When you're in the Philippines, you should expect that these mango smoothies/shake are real mangoes. They literally grow in our backyards so it's super easy to produce them 😅
