Aamir Khan is SO GOOD in this movie, it's crazy how he was 44 (a few years older than the director I believe) and managed to play such a convincing and animated character. The whole cast was spectacular! You'll soon realize that Indian film makers are really good at mixing multiple film genres into these masterpieces, known as "Masala films". You've probably noticed it with RRR and Bahubali, and that's why a lot of Indian cinema is just indescribably good.

There's a reason why an acclaimed director like Rajkumar Hirani chose Aamir Khan to play that role. Also, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi were also old but were still convincing through their fabulous acting. It's not about hiring or age, it's about ACTING. That's also the reason why Raju Hirani cast Sanjay Dutt for Munna Bhai MBBS. Stop this jealousy and learn more about cinema. This narrow minded attitude of yours will take you nowhere

I think since you've loved Aamir Khan, it'll be great if you watch 'Taare Zameen Par' soon because since the girls are teachers as well, i think everyone and especially them would love that movie. It really is a great movie that i think everyone should watch even once in their life. Aamir Khan does a great job in that movie alongside with the main character who's a little boy. Hopefully you guys would add this to the list because its truly a heartwarming movie.

As a former engineering student, I watch this movie every year as a reminder of the important things that really matter in life.

I am amazed that you people predicted the movie so much. When the girl on the left said, "I wonder if that scientist is Rancho." 51:55. Or maybe I was really young when I watched this movie for the first time. After all it was released in 2009.

3 Idiots came out in 2009 and Munna Bhai MBBS came out in 2003. Both movies taught us something very important about the education system and how it needs a serious rehaul. Unfortunately more than a decade later, 2 decades for Munna Bhai, those lessons have been left in the movies and we have carried on teaching students the wrong way and treating people the wrong way. I'm hoping with this new trend of young western people (Millennials and Gen Z) reacting to these Bollywood movies, maybe some of this generation can bring about the change that seemed impossible to implement all those years before when these movies came about.

This movie was way ahead of it's time. To pull off such a sensitive issue in a country like India wherein the phrase goes in each family - 'Padhega likhega banega nawab, kheleha kudega banega kharab'. Sadly there must be 1000's of students like Raju who are pursuing their carrier because just to uplift family's economic strength whilst other ones like Farhan who aren't able to follow their passion because of parental pressure. This is never ending cycle which will continue until the last human dies since from the child's POV even they acknowledge their family's struggle because of which eventually they give up on their dreams & passion. This is including my story as well. I'm also stuck. Hopefully someday, oneday :)

I know ragging is shown in a light hearted way in this film.But its actually a grave problem in India specially in engineering colleges and colleges in general where the seniors will often bully the newcomers/freshers and make them do dirty stuff like running around naked etc.If the newcomers fail to do so there will be bullied more,beaten up.Sometimes students commit suicide too because if this.The situation became so bad that government had to make rules regarding ragging and its considered as an offense in IPC Act.

When I was in the military it was called “Hazing” and was a serious issue but thankfully was being strictly ruled against so that helped. Which is why I said “ I never handled hazing well”. I would get more hazing my way for not participating in the initial hazing 🤷🏽‍♂️.

20:45 This scene gives me the exact same vibes as the Sayori Suicide Scene in DDLC. Both of them are relentlessly sad with almost no foreshadowing.

3 Idiots has the perfect balance of comedies and dramas where you’ll laugh hard and then it hits you like a truck with some very dark moments that makes it grounded.

7:09 I'm SEA and my parents chose our careers as early as kindergarten. My brother, a lawyer and me, a doctor. They gave us no choice in the matter. Since it started at a young age, my brother and I never entertained any other career option. So yeah, currently, I'm a doctor and my brother's a lawyer.

As a mechanical engineer, we watch this movie many times when we are still students, the Joy Lobo part really hits hard and many really thought of ending it, but we just pushed on and graduated. Now I'm at graduate school still studying engineering. It really does help to forgo of the urge to off ourselves, engineering is indeed really hard, but it is enjoyable as well.

Started watching from the first few seconds of premiering 😂 I'm glad you watched this movie❤ you've entered a rabbit hole of great fun movies of Bollywood 😅

The hostel dogs and cats (even other animals such as monkeys) who stay inside the hostel premises are kind of already adopted. In our hostel we had a bunch of cats and their kittens who were born inside one of the cupboards in our room. The students feed them and take care of them. They are everybody’s pets. 😊 We had this gorgeous jet black cat who used to rule the whole damn place, her name was Vanta, after vantablack (the darkest material in the world). If she sat in the dark, it’s complete camouflage. We also had occasional monkeys but we were discouraged from feeding them, coz they are assholes 😂

Not really.. No. No one likes someone like Suhaas, even if he's rich. But, yes. The movie isn't realistic. It's messaging is also kinda... eh. Like 'Go for excellence, success will follow'. As if Excellence doesn't require hardwork. And it gives no solution for what to do with failures, instead playing blame game. Chhichhore is soo much better than this movie.

Some people really don't get movies. It's a movie, it's not supposed to be 100 percent realistic, it has a clear message on the mental pressure parents and teachers put on their kids and students. And yes of course some parts are exaggerated to give that happily ever after and have that impact to the audience. Real life is realistic enough, that's why we watch movies to loose ourselves a bit. You won't get 100 percent, just focus on the message. Think about this, if it was realistic, Rancho would have been kicked out of school for being rude, Raju would have died , Farhan would have been arrested for stopping that plane ,,then what movie would we have, huh?

For your ease of understanding let me explain the words which rancho changed in chatur's ( silencers) speech - Chamatkar ( miracle ) was changed to balatkar ( molestation ) and dhan ( money) was changed to stan ( bosom )😂😂😂

At 14:40 but aamir khan and the other 2 actors too looked so good in this movie. They exelled at looking of that age.
