American Visits Serbian Home in Uzice, Serbia 🇷🇸

American visits Serbian home in Uzice, Serbia. Today I will be heading to my friend Stanko's house to enjoy an incredible breakfast that his mother prepared for my friend Itamar and I. I wanted to share this experience with you all because the Serbian hospitality is unreal and definitely something that everyone should experience. Stanko's mother prepared for us a very traditional Serbian meal that was incredible and also an amazing cake! I hope you enjoy this video, as much as I enjoyed filming it! Thank you Stanko for inviting me over and making me feel at home!

it is serbian custom to always help stranger in need it is almost mistake to degree because some of strangers take it like a weakness . usually trough history we let stranger sleep in main bedroom and host sleep on a couch. i can also proudly say that serbs never trough history had slaves and that we see other people as equals no matter of a color . usually man is leader of the house but there is plenty of woman that also take main role in decision making .we like to believe that serbia always fought on a right side in history like in ww1 and ww2 we lost 1/3 of our male population in ww1 and germans were never kind to us. we dont like other people to rule in our country and we are pretty passionate about politics usually we dont hold bars when we have opinion about something u also wont see many people smiling just to look pretty our opinion is pretty obvious on our face. peace to Georgia and all good people. u got pretty good national team in basketball as i remember by the way. i think igor kokoskov was your national coach for some time by the way if im not mistaken . here is story about 500 us pilots there were saved by serbs who were risking their and their family lives to help kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y6l3u9eGo8Kuqs4.html Halyard Mission - The Forgotten 500

This was such a great home-visit video!!!! I loved and enjoyed every minute of it! I have teared up watching it! 😭 I miss home! 😭 Yesterday, I lighted a candle in front of Saint Nikola's icon and made a post on my Facebook page, explaining to Americans why Serbs do that, and the significance of the "praying corner" to Serbs. My Slava is Trifundan, but I always light a candle for major Saints. Stanko's mom is an example of a typical Serb mom. We never sit down. There is always something to do, something to clean. We take pride in our homes. My American family doesn't understand it. They think I'm nuts! Your home is your "face", so to say. Which is why serbs take care of their guests. Serving a visitor with food and being hospitable is part of Serb tradition tided to the code of honor. Thanks for doing this! Stay safe as you continue your travel! Bless you! 🙏☦️

Here every family has it's patron saint which is seen as a protector of a family and on it's day we have "slava" or a feast in a name of our saint when we gather our friends and family for lunch and diner with a lot of food and some religious customs. Serbian household usually besides their patron saint has icon of Virgin Marry, Jesus and/or some other saints they for some reason respect or love.
