One thing that is relatively unknown on the warfare is alot of it was done in skirmishing , calvary raids or engagements by light infantry regiments. Most of the countryside in the USA made it to were the big rank and file battles weren't really possible. The British military had to raise their light companies back up to fight since they were decommissioned after the French and Indian war.

One thing I learned from this that's never mentioned anywhere were the attempted peace talks with the colonies in 1778 where the colonies would reswear allegiance to Britain in exchange for returning to their pre-taxed statuses.

@@cakeyummy2401 Yeah, sorry about that. I didn’t see it that way. Just people take the USA history for granted. We easily could have not existed if the Brits won. Hell we could’ve lost everything if DC burnt down. But a literal storm came and saved DC. And people wonder why the US at the time believed in Manifest Destiny? How else could you explain the capitol being saved? The British has the Spanish armada, and the Romans had so many divine interventions. Superstitions are based on phenomena that just happen and people rationalize it that the divine saved them. Sorry for the long comment.

I'll Google it so don't worry but thanks so much I really love history and your videos engage me to a point where 15 minutes felt like seconds. Man you know thanks a lot John I really enjoyed this remake of a very much watched video of your’s it’s much higher quality and gives a lot more details about the events that took place during the 8 year span of the American Revolutionary War so I really appreciate it especially since I do study it in my history class but it was good to know about some facts I had no idea about such as the fact that the British suggested that the colonies could go back to their old way of life pre tax I actually had no idea about that but looking at the actual context of it it does actually make since that the colonists didn’t fall for it as they didn’t have any representation in government I mean heck I wouldn’t have neither would my American revolution ancestors wink wink 😉

Actually the America's weren't discovered in the 1490's. They had been discovered long before then Some 500 years before Christopher Columbus was even born the Norwegian viking, Leif Erikson, accidentally landed in northeast Canada after his ships were blown offcoarse en route to Greenland.
