It got english subtitles, too 😉 After that, you will probably understand what this band makes so special and why their fans are the most passionated in the world 🤘

Hi Seth, I really liked your reaction to the Onkelz. As always if the Onkelz are mentioned there will be some people drawing attention to the bands past, which is completely right. To be fair, they were in the far right spectrum at some point in their youth. But what is not okay is that people don't recognize (far more than 30 years later) that people can change. Since decades, the Onkelz distance themselves from political extremes, which you can find in various songs and interviews. They made songs against racism, discrimination or violence, they stated multiple times that they are aware of their past and that they oppose it. Almost regulary, people with obvious signs of the far right spectrum got kicked out of concerts (if they even got in). Long story short, there are two ways to find out that they became good people. First, just ask a real fan (I don't mean some hobby-Nazis which sometimes spread their music in the right scene) about the band now and their past. Or second, what most critics do not seem to do: Just inform yourself about the band properly. With that said, it would be great if you react to more songs of the Onkelz✌ You won't have a bad conscience if you really know who they are. :)

The Böhse Onkelz are verry special to me. Their songs are about the real life, addiction, death, love... I lost a lot of beloved people and had alcohol and meth addiction and verry bad depression with suicide in mind. My best friend and those songs safed me and gave me the power to start again and got clean.

My mom's parents immigrated to the US from Germany in the 1920s, so I'm half German, although my grandparents didn't speak German in the house. You simply didn't speak German in rural American in the 1930s and 40s, so my mom didn't grow up knowing the language

You did well. And please don’t give to much credit to the comments which refer to ‚nazi band‘. They had one album in their rough youth which was confiscated. They were more like Oi skins back in the days, but went through trouble with antisocial turkish gangs in Frankfurt. They were ignored and stamped as right wing band for 15-20 years , even while singing against the right politics and kicking out every skinhead from their concerts. They said that they’ve made a big mistake in their youth but it was too late for all the lefties and Gutmenschen out there. Onkelz are „from the streets“ with truth on their tongues. They are right in your face and this generation is not ready for this greatness of music. This generation doesn’t even know it’s gender.

@@SethinBerlin no it’s ok. I won’t edit it. Either you delete or it will be out there for eternity. You know, I understand that there is a lot of fear to be cancelled. There is no shame of having this fear. I learned in my life to be „Frank und frei“, as we say in Germany. I will rather take a shitstorm than lying to myself and shut my mouth. See, that’s pretty similar to the Onkelz. They say a lot of stuff which is not political correct. But they say it and they mean it and they live with it. They couldn’t live with political correctness which is antivalent to their truth.

@@fmu8480 fair enough. I see your point but whole heartedly disagree. I never bought into labeling general respect for others political correctness. They may not be heil hitlering Nazis, but what you’ve wrote about “not being politically correct” IS right wing intolerance. I believe in freedom of expression and a space to give opinions, but I’m also extremely intolerant of intolerance. So I will say when someone says something like this it does make me believe that the people labeling the Onkelz a certain way are correct.

For example: all the media and also the government are saying we must support a country with weapons and maybe with own soldiers in their defense against third party aggression = support Ukraine against Russia = political correct Now, if I say I don’t want to deliver more weapons but start peace negotiations = political incorrect = right wing? So demanding peace negotiations = right wing intolerance? That’s a different „right wing“ than I experienced in my youth.

@@SethinBerlin They`re where a right fascistic music group in the 80s, with its first album being confiscated by German authorities. They claiming since mid 90s or so that they aren't radicalistic right anymore but still are viewed as controversial by many.

@@SethinBerlin I just wanted to give you an heads up about it. I wouldn't watch it. But it's a personal opinion type of choice how you think of them i think. You might do "Schmetterling" from "Team Scheiße" sometime next. I like it a lot. And they are definitely the other end of the political spectrum. (Although the song isn't political.)

Ne careful with the Onkelz. While it is true that they have distanced themselves from their right wing ideology, which they had decades ego. However, they are still regarded as one of the most important right-wing band in terms of their fans. They got rich by ignoring that many of their fans are right wing. It’s a difficult one
