Apparently paper Canadian Tire money is worth a lot to the right buyer now.
One of their slogans was, "There's a lot more to Canadian Tire than just tires." A friend of mine is fond of saying. "If Canadian Tire sold beer, cigarettes and food, the average Canadian male would have little need to shop anywhere else".
I’m an immigrant and for years I’v been ignoring this store because I literally thought it was just car parts store and I didn’t have a car, so I never walked in. I don’t remember how I finally learnt about what it really was, but now I’m there quite often. And as a funny coincidence, I bought blender there yesterday :))
Not even exaggerating, but my dad goes to Canadian Tire at least 5 times a week to browse. It’s his happy place! 😊 My 4 year old daughter asked very seriously once, after a discussion about how sometimes when people die their ashes get scattered in their favourite place, if her grandpas ashes would be scattered at Canadian Tire since he goes there so often!
Canadian Tire has become the default go-to for things like garden necessities, common DIY fix-it things (like your cracked shower head or your broken curtain rod) and for small kitchen appliances. They always have a nice variety at a decent price, and their policies on returns and exchanges are a bit more generous than they need to be. It's as though they're a corporation that's also your friend's dad who'll treat you right. It all appeals to our Canadian cultural expectations.

Lol, CT employee here… our motto at one time used to be “There’s a lot more to Canadian Tire than just tires.” We also have described our retail operations as “Canada’s largest hard goods retailer”. Began as an automotive supplies store and service centre and grew to encompass many retail channels, with now roughly 500 locations across the country, excluding the other specialty stores, petroleum locations and retail companies that we’ve acquired relatively recently (last 10-15 years). Tried to expand to the US as “The White Store” back in the 80s or early 90s but the market there is already very saturated with competitors carrying the same product categories wasn’t profitable I guess. I have no clue how that was the name that won the naming competition, can be misinterpreted at worst and at best it is a very forgettable name.

Canadian Tire is like a cross between Home Depot/Lowes, and Bass Pro shops/Cabelas. It is an affordable store for tools, automotive supplies, gardening or camping supplies, sports equipment, household items, outdoor furniture, pet supplies, and the list goes on. It also has a auto repair bay and a greenhouse at either end. Just no clothing unless it is for hunting/fishing, etc. It is a great place to buy Christmas gifts with their seasonal sales. FYI - Bounty bars are coconut and chocolate-delish 😊.
They also have an amazing Christmas selection during the season. The amount of lights is just mind blowing as well.

To me We are fond of Canadian Tire for many reasons. I love wandering the store. Its not like a Target at all. Target failed in Canada because they didnt understand the Canadian consumer. Its not like Walmart either. Its in a class of its own. I would describe it like an old fashioned department store. Its absolutely fun to wander through the store and look at everything.
They started with tires & automotive and expanded. When you have the most trusted & recognized brand in the country, you don't throw away that name on a whim.
@isabelleblanchet3694
Жыл бұрын
It's such a recognized brand that they did not even have to adapt their name in Québec following the French laws. While Staples is Bureau en gros and Shoppers Drug Mart is Pharmaprix, Canadian Tire remained Canadian Tire. I think we'd laugh out loud if the name was changed to "Pneus canadiens" or something like that.
The last thing I bought at Canadian Tire was a (bike) tire. They are pretty competitive with Amazon for many things, and they have stuff Amazon doesn't. You can look up inventory on their web site, or shop in the store. I think you underestimated the component of their business that is tires, auto parts, and auto service. They are more behind-the-counter. In the last couple of years, I've bought a Singer sewing machine, an inflatable tandem kayak, a bike lock, mechanic's hand cleaner, paper towels, car racks, oil and filters, and a bunch of other stuff. My car hasn't needed any work since I bought it, but when I drove cars that did, they were my go-to place for parts and service. WalMart isn't competitive for automotive or really for hardware. Though Home Depot/Lowes/Rona/Home Hardware have more hardware. When I'm in the states, I have to go to several places, like Autozone, Rainbow/Ace, Target, to get the coverage that CT has. If you want to see a blast from the past, Google for old Canadian Tire annual catalogs.
@pjperdue1293
Жыл бұрын
The best part about CT is even in their hugest stores, you can find out online on your phone which aisle your item is in. I don't know if any other stores do that.
I was as disappointed with Home Depot's lack of purchaseable homes and Walmart's lack of affordable pre-built walls as Tyler was with Canadian Tire's surprisingly low percentage of tires vs other products. Fun fact about big box stores: Target tried to get into the Canadian market a while ago but failed miserably due to selling low quality products, higher prices then the equivalent ones at US stores and supply chain issues that resulted in difficulty keeping the actual products that did sell on shelves.
1. They have a wonderful return policy 2. If an item comes on sale within 1 month of you purchasing it they will honor their sale price and return the price difference to you. 3. They carry almost everything other than groceries and regular clothing. Also the game is called beersbie here not can jam.
Canadian Tire has filled in the generic Department store slot next to Walmart, after Zellers/Target left the Canadian market. They mainly focus on the hardlines, while leaving 'softlines' (Food, Clothing) to other stores. They did start as a garage/tire store, and expanded into garden supplies, hardware, hunting supplies, sporting goods and kitchen appliances through the years. They've also absorbed a number of other companies and brought them under their banner, including "Sports Check" (sporting goods only), "Marks Work Warehouse" (Work clothing, durable shirts, pants, shoes, etc....), "Party City" (Party supplies, mostly only as substores within the big stores now) and probably more I've forgotten. I'm surprised there was no mention of Canadian Tire Money. If you pay by cash (or Canadian Tire credit card) you can get coupons back in the form of "Canadian Tire Money", that can be spent at CT stores like cash. (And if you return something that gave you CT money you have to return the CT money as well). It's made just like regular paper currency and counted/tracked in the stores just like regular currency. My sister has worked as a manager at various CT stores for decades now. She worked as a manager at what was at the time the biggest CT store in Canada in Edmonton. The place is huge, 2 stories tall with departments bigger than stores in other places. (There's now a slightly bigger store in Ottawa to take the biggest crown). She's now a full manager at a store in Saskatchewan though she'll be moving on to a new store soonish. CT stores in general are common across Canada. Most small towns will have a CT store of some sort; probably not very big, but it provides garage services and is a hardware store for the region in places that Walmart or similar may not go in. (Giant Tiger serves a similar slot, but Giant Tiger has more softlines and a food section so the overlap isn't that big)

@sjsomething4936
Жыл бұрын
@@stewartbonner somewhat true… Zellers probably wouldn’t have been seen as major competition it Target would have been a bit more. Our (multi-decade CT employee here) shares really went for a skid when Walmart came to Canada, people expected we couldn’t compete but thanks to Canadian loyalty and lots of effort by employees and store owners we managed pretty well. That is one of the main differences between ourselves and Walmart or other competitors, ours is a franchisee model (each store has an owner) with a very strong dealer network that advocates on behalf of the dealers for various issues that need to be addressed. The dealer committee has a great deal of power and ensures that head office is responsive to the needs of dealers, who in turn are responsive to customers. One simple illustrative example: one of our down-East maritime stores got in a shipment of plants for spring planting at the same time as a Walmart. At end of day the CT store brought all the plants indoors, Walmart left them outside and predictably frost killed many of them. Store owner and manager have direct financial interest in ensuring that product is available for customers, I assume that the Walmart location had to order new plants and wait for them to arrive, losing sales in the process. Dealers are also able to purchase a percentage of their stock as from non-corporate sources, which allows them to carry unique items or things in demand in their community that may not be available from the corporation. This can also benefit other local businesses to succeed and improve the customer experience as well.

In my area, Canadian Tire is the only place that sells big (27 lb.) bags of the cat litter my family gets. In that same aisle is the food we feed our cats, at the best price in town. Usually when I'm in Canadian Tire, I make a beeline for the pet care aisle. They also sell work clothes, including steel-toe shoes and boots, as well as guns and hunting gear (but this is Canada: in order to buy a gun, you need a gun license), and toys.
Something most people don't realize is that the different sections are colour coded. If you look up at the top of the walls there is a line of red or purple or green. Each colour represents the section which is consistent across all stores so housewares is one colour, sports good and outdoors is another. Automotive is it's own colour. So if you know what you are looking for, you can walk into any store, look up, find the colour you want and walk right there. I don't know how prevalent the colour coding is today though.

The biggest Canadian tire, the one in Edmonton, has a large gun section with hundreds of guns.

Canadian Tire has an excellent brand of tools & auto parts my husband is addicted too. As kids in Canada I remember the exciting yearly trip for the ice skate exchange. They probably don’t do this anymore but as kids feet grow fast and most of us skate they would accept, clean up, sharpen & re-sell kids skates. Great for families (like mine) that couldn’t afford new skates every year. I will never forget my Uncle Jack & Aunt Mary buying me my first ever new pair of skates at Canadian Tire. Still buy lots there, especially their store brand of custom closet and storage units. Much less expensive than IKEA and more customizable. Only thing I will never buy they again is Tires! They come from Costco.
You really found one of the best channels to react to differences between Canada and the US. That's an awesome channel right there. Cheers
The main reason Canadian Tire are really popular is that they are everywhere. I use to live in a town where we had a Canadian Tire, Grocery store, drugstore and a really basic clothing store. That was it. So Canadian Tire were where we go all the time for different house hold items and sport equipment. It is a commun thing to have access to Canadian Tire but not other big store brand in some region. Also, there a a lot of stuff that is in the warehouse and you ask the employee to get it. Auto part, tire, earth, rock, wood chips. Inside there is also a seasonal part, where they sell Christmas decor, shovel, snow blower, lawn mower, BBQ, etc. In my opinion, it is better then wallmart, but you can find a lot of stuff in both store.
In a lot of smaller communities around the country it’s the “go to for everything” store. Hardware, camping and fishing, home accessories, etc.

It seems that Canadian Tire, Giant Tiger, Dollarama and sometimes Wal-Mart, are about the only chain stores frequently willing to open stores in Ontario towns with fewer than 10 000 residents.
Canadian Tire is basically the man-cave supply store. Lots of stuff for the car, garage and outdoor activities. With an odd bit of kitchen stuff thrown in for good measure.
The best way to describe store is, think of EVERYTHING you can store in your garage--that's what they sell. Tires, holiday decorations, small appliances, paint...
We do a fishing trip every year in Northern Ontario. It's mostly American customers and vendors that join us. They are always blown away by the Canadian Tire store and make a point to visit each time. Especially the fishing gear & tackle.

In a lot of places they’re the major place in town to buy fishing equipment.
Canadian Tire also has a pet supplies section, a toy section, a cleaning supplies section and some random furniture. There are no clothes except sometimes for sports or winter, but they usually have winter hats and gloves in the "random knicknacks" section. In the summer, there's a fairly big outdoor section with plants. In the fall, there's a lot of Halloween decor. In the winter, there's a Christmas section with artificial trees, ornaments, lights and lawn decor, and at that time of the year they also sell fancy chocolate boxes that can be given as gifts.

I love Canadian Tire. Just some of the things I have purchased in the past includes 4 winter tire and rims (and had them installed there), patio umbrella, distilled water, kitchen knives in a knife block, plastic lidded storage containers, rake, seeds and plants for my veggie garden and perennials, folding table, batteries for small items, flashlights, playing cards, car battery, canning jars and supplies for canning, clothes pegs, clothesline, thermostat for my house, grass seed, toys at Christmas for the grandchildren, a Canadian flag for my flagpole, bungee cords, etc., etc. to mention a few. Canadian Tire has everything! I love it. I live in Ottawa, Canada’s capital and we recently had the largest Canadian Tire in Canada open here and it is beautiful! It looks very “upscale”…my favourite place to shop for everything!
While I was laughing at the beginning of this video, knowing full well Canadian Tire was not just a tire store, I am sure that I had a similar thought. Though, since I grew up in Canada, that was when I was quite young. :) One good tip for shopping at Canadian Tire is looking up the part on the website before you go, check stock at your nearest location and the aisle number, it can be helpful if someone is looking for a specific item. But, it is always best to give yourself extra time at Canadian Tire. :)
Crappy Tire is a really great store, I go there when I need anything for the house or my car. Joseph (Canadian) & Jason (American) are also great, I watch them vlog their opinions on Canadian vs America things, foods, etc.
Canadian Tire also has its own money. It was an original rebate scheme where essentially for every dollar in cash you spent you received a certain percentage back in Canadian Tire money. It is still in place; however, you can also receive it as a credit when you use your Canadian Tire credit card.

Thanks Tyler for another great video. I've been going to Canadian Tire all my life, I do remember when I was a little kid that they had mostly tires and automotive parts. I love that they have a bit of everything, they do sell some clothing, snack foods, sporting goods and a whole lot more. My dad always tells me look for the red and yellow signs whenever we go there, that means the great deals, usually :D BTW, my hubby loves the clearance section, he always goes there first, while I normally check out the kitchen section and my son always looks at the toy and sometimes the garden section.
Canadian Tire is part of our culture, both the big cities and small towns had their Canadian Tire Stores. Some were outlet stores but all wore the Canadian Tire name. We saved our Canadian Tire Money with Sandy Saver, a true Scotsman, looking back at us from each bill. It was also something from Toronto that we all loved before the Blue Jays & Raptors. I remember being a child and the strong smell of rubber in the smaller town stores. Canadian Tire is part of our national identity.

I'm 82. My first memory of "The Tire" dates to about 1945, when I accompanied my dad for car parts. Step up to the counter, explain to the clerk what you needed, and waited while he roller skated on wooden floors to pick your parts, pay the bill, go home to finish your diy car repairs. They have expanded since then . I have done business with them over the years, and always found them businesslike, and honourable. Really good people to do business with. They do sell clothing now, having recently bought a couple of sporting goods retailers, a prominent leisurewear retailer. Oh, yes, they just bought Party City. They also own some of their own suppliers. Most stores have a huge Garden Section. My kids don't ask anymore, they just buy me a C.T.C. gift card for birthdays, Father's Day gifts, Christmas. If you are at The Sheppard Ave. store, the tires are all downstairs ( take the escalator)

I worked at Canadian Tire associate store for 40+ years loved it😊 the store has automotive parts, tires, battery’s , Automotive service centre, hardware, housewares, seasonal items, sporting goods, you name it they probably have it.😊
I didn't realize that our habit of referring to Canadian Tire as "Crappy Tire" was widespread. We've been calling it by that name for over 40 years and the funny part is over that same period, there is probably not a month that has gone by where we have not purchased something there. I particularly like how you can go online, find your local store, search their real time inventory and locate your items before you even set foot in the store. The parts the video tour missed were the home hardware sections with plumbing, fasteners, lightbulbs, fixtures and furnace filters etc., the auto repair bays and how extensive the Garden Centre actually is. Basically everything for the home owner plus automotive stuff.
Canadian here, Canadian Tire is a department store that has a full service vehicle shop. So while you are getting repairs, or new tires you can also get stuff for your home. Kitchen, home improvement, sports, outdoor living. Edit: something that wasn't shown in the video was the massive tire storage backroom, the tires on display in the showroom are just for display. You find out what tire you want, go to the service counter and ask for those tires and they get them from the back. Also I believe there is winter tire storage for customers that pay for it, so they store the off season tires for you until you are ready to put them back on your vehicle.
A lot of Canadian Tire's include a Mark's Work Warehouse - a store that sells clothing, work clothes for those that work in construction, the medical field, etc., shoes.. including work shoes/boots with steel toes.. pyjamas, outerwear, wool socks, etc.
I'm surprised it didn't talk about Canadian Tire money, whi, originally I think was the coolest most unique part of the experience xo

Oh my god how did I forget about CT money. My grandpa always had this huge wad from gas at the CT gas station
Canadian Tire started very much as a tire store, with a few garage bays to change and repair tires. Most stores now have between 12 to 24 mechanic's bays to perform every possible automotive repair. The service shop is supported by a huge automotive parts department with everything from brakes, lubricants, filters to a replacement windshield wiper motor for your 1996 Chevy and all parts are available for installation by them, or take it home to do your own repairs. They still have a back room and a warehouse of many name brand tires for every vehicle, trailer, etc. for every season and terrain and they have their own MasterCraft brand tires. Everything camping, fishing, hunting, all sports and outdoor apparel, became an extension automotive travel in the 50's. Then came everything for the outdoor home and cottage life, from lawn care, snow removal, patios and all the associated hardware. Automotive tools morphed into the tools of every trade. Automotive cleaning, painting and restoration morphed into everything to clean, paint and restore the home. You get the idea....and it just goes on and on. Canadian Tire is also famous for what used to be Canadian Tire Money, which was their own dollars representing 5% of every purchase, that could be saved up and spent for any Canadian Tire goods and services. That tradition continues with a Canadian Tire app today. Canadian Tire is also famous for moving product and offering substantial sales. End of season goods are moved with deep discounts up to 70% off the competitive market price. Whether you need a tent, hockey equipment, a generator, compressor or your painting your whole house, if you can wait until the item goes on sale, your likely to save 50% off the cost.
Canadian tires also usually have a massive paint section, for both home painting and automotive paints
To define what is technically Canadian Tire exactly for! It’s about everything that you need at home to maintain your house! It’s not really like a Walmart that you can buy anything with everything not being related! Here in our Canadian Tires the only things being selling, are House goods/needs/maintenance and for survival
I was very disappointed that the Canadian Tire money wasn't mentioned. 😢. I used to carry a plastic cheque book holder, just to put my Canadian Tire money in it. My dad had a thick wad of it in his trucks glove box. Seriously missed opportunity.
I remember when Canadian Tire got rid of the Canadian Tire money and replaced it with a card. We all wondered what we're supposed to put in our glove compartment now.
Canadian Tire owns Mark's (used to be called Mark's Work Wear) if you are looking for clothes. Usually Mark's is in the same mall or just across the street. You used to get "Canadian Tire bucks" for each purchase you made and could use that as cash in both Canadian Tire and Marks. I remember a friend having a 3 inch thick wad of Canadian Tire bucks. The auto centre is usually a separate part of the store with it's own entrance and car bays where you can leave your car for repairs.
Canadian Tire is great. It’s good quality stuff and you can find what you need, and also a lot of cool stuff that’s fun to look through. Like all kinds of useful outdoorsy equipment, sporting goods, camping, and tools. I have also had good service through the automotive centre. And yes I have bought tires there.
The smell of a Canadian Tire is unique! You could go in blindfolded and know immediately that you are there. 😅 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 🛞

In the 1950s there used to be lots of tires; in fact the whole store smelled like rubber. You could also buy a few other random things, but it was essentially an automotive store. My dad bought our bikes there - Supercycle brand. Today, you can still buy tires there and have your vehicle serviced, just like in any automotive store, but it's also a big box department store. For clothing, you will be directed to a Marks store, some are attached and others are in the same strip mall. For sportswear you will be directed to Sportchek.
I love Cdn Tire. Not for the tires, but for the small appliances, and anything you need to run a house... vacuums, lighting, paint, camping stuff and seasonal (garden stuff, Christmas and Halloween decorations and much much more.
I used to work at a Canadian Tire. Good work environment, friendly staff, and never had a problem with a customer. I always made sure to give full effort anytime I was in a position to help a customer. For example, one time a family was looking for a certain camping supply kit and it wasn't on the shelf. There was only one in stock, which meant it must have been in the warehouse (my department). Its location was not in the system, so I didn't know where in the warehouse it might have been beyond my general knowledge of what usually goes where. I frantically searched the warehouse in the back for maybe five minutes, found a bag of camp supplies on an upper shelf in a corner, verified that it was the right one using a scanner, and rushed out of the warehouse with it. I managed to catch the family on their way to the cashiers (it looked like they had given up and were leaving), asked if they still wanted it, and handed it to them when they said they did. Overall a pleasant interaction. I was very glad I could get them what they were looking for before they gave up and left. I've gone there for everything from sports supplies to pest control to auto parts to tools to kitchenware. If I need something, there's a good chance Canadian Tire has it, and there's a good chance the staff there will help me find it as long as I'm polite and don't take up too much of their time. If I'm not sure, I can always check a given location's inventory online before I go. Also, you may have seemed disappointed by the size of the tire section in the video, but that's just what's on display. As a former warehouse associate at one of these stores, I guarantee you there's a large section of the warehouse in the back that's dedicated to tires.
Canadian Tire has been around for a long time. It was the go-to place before all of the big box stores came long - even before Walmart. We love CT!
😂😂 When my little sister was about 7, she saved up all her Canadian Tire money and bought Mom a cutting board for Xmas with it.
Centre is the correct English spelling for a place, center is a geometric location
That's where I bought my first fishing rod. I'd say Canadian Tire is for the outdoor Canadian. From deck furniture and barbeques to fishing rods and camping equipment. From gardening tools, soil and plants to lawn mowers and snowblowers. We are an outdoor people and we like our seasons.
It is a massive hardware store and is also a car parts\acessories and outdoor camping fishing/sporting goods and kitchen appliance store.
Canadian Tire is like a large General Merchandise Store that will also do major repairs to your vehicle along with "yes" selling & mounting newly bought tires
Canadian Tire started as an auto parts store. My grandfather opened a franchise store in Valleyfield, QC back in the 1940s. I remember when I used to visit the store as a child and it always smelled like tires. The main floor was all automotive, the 2nd floor was sporting and household goods. There was a separate area for fishing and hunting. You could also buy your hunting license there. Eventually he sold it off (made a lot of $$ off the sale).
Aside from furniture, clothes, and food, Canadian Tire tire has just about everything you could ever need. They have some furniture, just not enough to furnish a whole home. They have some clothes, but not everyday wear. They have some food, but mostly snacks. Car parts, yard care, kitchen equipment, home care stuff, sporting goods, home improvement. And most is reasonable quality at a decent price. You have to check one out to really get it. And their sale prices are absolutely insane; I’ve bought $300 regular priced items for $70. My garage is filled with stuff from CT. I’ve never found a place in the US that compares, and my American friends agree. It’s a Canadian staple. As far as car parts, it may look underwhelming, but they can get you anything you need, you just have to talk to the counter. Only things I can say, is if you are Canadian, and you have some “import” friends that don’t know the place, bring them. Finally, while you can get the parts and everything, the CT automotive garage has just about the worst reputation in the country. Take your car elsewhere for service. Sad, but true. You won’t find a single person saying that CT was the best and most honest automotive service they’ve ever had.
Canadian Tire started out as a tire shop and auto repair place, but gradually expanded into a general merchandise store (except for clothing and groceries) since it was founded in 1922. Some stores here in the Edmonton area have eclectic items like garden statues and Xenomorph costumes for sale.

Retired employee here. It all depends on the owner of that particular store as to what extra products you will find. The owner of the store I worked in would bring in Tshirts for summer, heavy parkas and snowmobile suits for winter.
You can even bring your dog in with you, as long as they're on a leash. Doesn't have to be a service dog either
I think the buisness key about tires is because of Canada's weather every driver in the country has to switch from all weather to winter tires and back every year. Two garunteed trips to a service center where the mechanic isn't gonna upsale you. And their products aren't weeky purchases but usually things you buy annually to every 10 years (even if you only use it once).
As a former Canadian Tire employee, it's definitely more than just tires. They sell car parts, automotive goods (motor oil, washer fluid, etc.), sporting goods, seasonal items like lawn mowers, patio sets, Christmas ornaments, power tools, small kitchen appliances, small home furniture, home cleaning supplies, etc. It basically almost sells everything. Almost. And yes, there are technically tires stacked to the ceiling, but at the back warehouse of the store, usually on the second floor warehouse inside the back of the store, of most stores. Not all Canadian Tire stores will be the size of an average big box store, but most locations will be fairly sized, compared to a Walmart or Home Depot.
Walmart doesn't sell walls, Target doesn't sell bows and arrows, Apple doesn't sell fruits...
I have worked at Canadian Tire for over 20 years. We also own other stores, such as Marks (mens and womens clothing) Party City, Adventure Store, Sport Check. So we offer a great deal at all of our locations. We started out in Toronto in 1922 by two brothers. It grew and grew. It is CANADIAN for sure eh!

Canadian Tire has an awesome "seasonal" section so in the spring/summer, you see, gardening tools etc, lawn care products, lawn furniture and accessories and all kinds of things. In the fall, you start to see fall related products and then a huge selection of Halloween stuff, and same in winter, you see all kinds of winter related stuff and of course a huge selection of Christmas trees and accessories. Canadian tire does have a great selection of auto parts, accessories, tires and our Canadian Tire does have a large service centre if you need to get your vehicle repaired. What is the equivalent of Canadian Tire in the US?
Fun facts… The slogan 40-50 years ago was… “Canadian Tire - We’re more than just tires”. A good friend was the announcer in the commercials back then (he also did the ads). If you look at that tire display and factor in that they have multiple sizes for each of those styles of tires, and consider they have tons of those in stock (out of site)… that’s a LOT of tires! The Canadian Tire warehouse that supplied all the stores, was the first fully robotic warehouse in Canada (maybe North America?). That was back in the late 70s or mid 80s (I can’t recall for sure). They have a clothing division - it’s in a separate store (sometimes within the Canadian Tire - sometimes separate, but often near by). It’s called Mark’s (formerly Mark’s Work Warehouse), and is generally workwear and casual clothing. A lot of flannel and thick socks! 😄
