I enjoyed your reaction. But it's really sad that you didn't know any of the history of the area where you grew up. Your school system needs to address this! When I was at school in London, we learned how the Romans came and 'Londinium' was born, and the major historical events that impacted the City. I hope you explorer the subject more - it is very rewarding.

Hi have you heard of the video 'London, England's Megacity of the United Kingdom' It gives you a birds eye view of London today, talks a bit about its history - it's an interesting watch.

7:12 my guess: cost. Because the city in European countries and various Asian countries aren't car dependent. This means you won't need a car to live your life. Imagine if you didn't have to pay for a car and gas, that saves a lot of money. For many people, it's cheaper to pay a bit more to live in a city than to live far away and get a car. In my case, I didn't get a car until I was 31, and only got one because I could. My SO still doesn't have a drivers license. We both never needed it, because of the options available. It saved us thousands and thousands during times we needed the money. Oh, and it is also good to know: The US is one of the countries with the cheapest gas available globally. So imagine if you had to pay more. Back when everybody was complaining about gas money in the US, it'd cost me 10-11 dollar a gallon. Ya'll had no idea how lucky you were.

LOL - I love the US Vs. Europe comparisons. Drive from Wyoming to Minnesota (3 US states) and its equal to diving about 1/2 way across western Europe... LOL

North America has an area of about 24,710,000 km². The USA of about 9,857,000 km² Europe of about 10.180.000 km² In terms of area, North America is larger, but the USA is smaller than Europe.
