Totally agree, but I do suffer from acute awareness syndrome. When I was diagnosed I said, 'what, like there a five other doors in the corridor out there'. This guy is brilliant, I liked the light on the faces, I'd never noticed that and I've seen it more times than him.

Ren said that they filmed it with 2 phones. It was right after a messy breakup with his manager. He wanted to show he could just do it. That he didn't NEED anything else. Point proven. The song is a perfect example of how he uses upbeat music to talk about serious topics. Joe, you REALLY need to see Children Of The Moon. An early Ren and Sam video. You will LOVE it.

That bass drops get me EVERY time. How could you NOT vibe to this song?! Positive message, smooth bars, great beat, catchy as Hell!

"Get so high to try to silence sounds of fighting through the walls I heard love dying" is such a hard bar (and very relatable for me ) Man with your bg and the love you got for Sam I REALLY wanna hear an intervew with you two, going into the nitty gritty of videomaking

Actually when he joined Ren's interview with Black Pegasus, Sam said if he's in front of the camera another time he's going to make sure he knows all the words lol

POWER is the video I put on loop whenever I need a lift. Thanks for helping me appreciate it even more.

This was the first track that Ren released after splitting with his manager. He just wanted to do something fun, basic and get it out really fast, without lots of production. I think he said they recorded it on two mobile phones (I could be wrong)

I love this one. The groove is sick, but the message is everything. Don't let life get to you, focus on yourself and your own power. Focus on what you CAN control. I don't know about everyone else, but it's something I need a reminder of more often than I care to admit. (although I just did I guess lol)

I'm pretty sure I heard Ren say that he loved making this one because they just jumped in the car with the cameras and drove around to the song. I like this one. It's really fun.

This is probably my favourite Ren track. I always go back to this one. It's just a whole vibe. When you're having a shit day or just feeling a bit down, this song gets you back up... And gives you power 😉

So glad you loved this! It’s such a great song in so many different ways. Ren keeps it real - so many of us can relate to being pricks at 16, even more can relate to parents splitting up. Shit happens and life usually doesn’t go as planned, and that’s just the way it is. Ren chose to focus on his own power, and if he can do it in spite of all he’s been through - then all of us can too. ❤

This is the one that Ren was saying in the Knox interview that he basically was so sick of the time and arduous tedious bs he had to go through just to get something out there for his fans, so he took two (or three?) smartphones and positioned them in the car and basically recorded, edited and released 1-2-3

All day IDGAF...we all want to be in the back seat for this ride! Edit: You 100% hit the reaction vibe back in the day... "You gotta hear this" was the preface for something new, cool, fresh and we're lucky to get that so consistently with Ren!

"Power" is one of those feel good songs that I can put on and just dance and chill -whether in the car or at home....but it's one of my jams. Thanks for covering it. And sorry I'm not big on commenting, cause I don't wanna bother...but gonna try to help the algorithm. You rock Joe E Sparks. Love your peaceful vibes.

Good catch with the angle of the brim of Sam's hat! I never had the impression that it was a single "run through" of the lip synch in the car anyway, but I love finding the various small details that show stuff like that and while I'd figured out the varying sunlight on their faces over different shots, I hadn't noticed the small discontinuities with Sam's hat. re: do we sometimes feel like we're those 16yr old pricks we once were? In my case, nope. I feel utterly severed from the kid I was in high school, for better or for worse (there are downsides to that).

Definitely one of my favorite Ren songs. Really easy to listen to and such a great groove and message.

Still one of my favourite Ren tracks to this day. I genuinely like the simple approach to this video, sometimes the over produced videos can get a bit stale - despite how cool they can be.

It’s just such a wholesome and down to earth video that everyone can relate to it.

Power is my go-to song to give me Renergy to get on and focus on the shite I keep putting off - like housework lol - I always feel happy when I listen to this doing my chores and bopping to the positive beat. But the one thing, which I posted a comment about on the original video about 9 days ago(I had a feeling no one reads my comments)😒, you didn't mention is that the video was flipped left to right. You can see the logo on Sam's top is back to front. It makes it look like they're in an American left-hand drive car.😁 Edit: I managed to get further through the comments and see some others have pointed out the same. I'm still happy though as I pointed this out on Rens original video earlier.😜

Hey Joe, your videographer eye on this is as usual, a refreshing take. One observation I would add, you're right, it is not the usual one take, which I think works brilliantly in a Ren on the move video ala Genesis, Animal Flow, Money Game 1, Murderer etc. However, can you imagine how boring a single one take camera would be in a car? Plus, I think Driver Sam, who no doubt set up the car cameras, does his hand dancing, which can only be allowed when car is at a stop. It needs chopping to give the song extra life IMO.
