Without Taffy-3 and the all the aircraft from Taffy-1, Taffy-2, and land based aircraft, Halsey's move to the north would have caused a disaster.
If this is about Battle of Samar, please label it as such. Changing the title every time makes it hard to follow the story in order.

It’s part of the playlist that’s labeled as such if that helps

Featuring a picture of a carrier that wasn't commissioned until a few days after the surrender ceremony, on the other hand... @@Vanayr

Halsey did indeed take the bait. That part of the plan worked as planned.

@@americanslav2262 Honestly, I don't think he had a choice. In hindsight, we know the Japanese had a dire shortage of pilots. I would be willing to bet that maybe the US knew they were having those issues but not to the extent it had gotten to. So, how do you think the conversation would Nimitz would go if Halsey told him he saw the remaining Japanese carriers but declined to engage? Carriers were a greater threat.
The USS Midway pictured was commissioned 8 days after the end of WW II.
How sbout using a picture of a US carrier from the period instead of USS Midway that wasnt even commissioned until September 45. Let alone completing workups etc....
