I personally loved his performance. Barry Seal was a larger than life character so the role was perfect for Tom.

No question that Tom Cruise has been one of the greatest actors of the last 40 or so years. Brad Pitt, also has been in an endless string of great movies. Jason Statham, on the other hand, is complete trash and no one should ever have heard his name.

The film "Cocaine Cowboys" goes over some circumstances of Barry Seal's murder. The hit men were caught almost immediately. They were from Colombia. It took time to arrange the hit because Barry always had law enforcement with him. There were competing charges against Barry, since he had broken so many laws. A judge in Louisiana decided to require him to be at a specific place at a specific time. He knew (or should have known) that this was tantamount to a death sentence.

With BRICK Knew to much. "They" weren't going to take a chance with that. Should've known something was up when they took his money. They weren't going to allow him to live a life of luxury off of their exploits.

Another movie where Tom Cruise got to prouve himself that He is not just a pretty face, but mainly a great actor and a great producer.

You just mess with a columbian drug lord or any kind of kingpin theres just no survival any one on the streets will be collecting your scalp for yhat kind of money

There's something amazing about the very subtle acting by Tom the second before the frame freezes when they put the muzzle up to him. His character clearly accepts that this is it but still flinches as the gun comes up, but he's also clearly trying not to flinch. It's so subtle but it's one of the film deaths I've never forgotten and we never even see it.

I know the last scene is made up, but you can totally imagine a CIA guy or group of guys coming up with such a hare--brained scheme as Iran-Contra off the top of their heads.

this movie grows on you - it's great

I really like the style of how they showed the death. Rather than seeing him getting shot and all that mess they show the gunman and the car then back to his video journal and pause the tape and fades to white. I like that, it's a good touch. He wasn't a bad guy, he did earn a shitload of money from delivering drugs, but he didn't deserve to get shot.

I watched this on live TV back in the 90s when it was going on. I remember seeing Pablo Escobar being in power, hunted down, and killed. Damn, I'm getting old lol Anyways, I think if Tom Cruise would have made at least a cameo as Barry Seal on Narcos, that would have been f'n awesome. Great show, btw.

I watched this movie the first time i was on lsd. When they shot barry it felt like my life ended. Me and my friend just sat there for 10 mins and they got up and left. It was a surreal experience, like I experienced death, yet it was peaceful and not scary at all. Greatest movie of all time lmao

If this is based on a true story dealing with largest drug smuggling, there will be death involved for anyone also higher ups not wanting you anymore

Funfact, the files regarding all this were later moved from Washington DC to Oklahoma City. The same federal building that was later blown up in the OKC bombing

One of the underrated movies.

Amazing movie. Can’t help but think Barry came almost to terms to what may happen next. Death, life after all this.

For this scene of Barry it really was an adventure and such a blast.

This film has been out for half a decade now and I just realized there was three assassins instead of two. I never noticed the one walking behind the car until today.

Is it just me or how this was shot was kind of scary... Strange black figures appearing out of the darkness, no sound, casually walking up to you, without saying a word and shooting you in the face? This scene made me shudder when I first saw it. From everything that happened in the movie, this scene stood out to me the most.

Did anyone else notice at the end the map in schaffers hand changed positions from angle to angle, as in hand to other hand. I think they messed that up haha. Amazing movie tho🔥

Yeah, the character had like, 2 scenes totaling about 7 minutes of screentime or something, lol. I loved the fact that Tom Cruise made a whole movie about the guy after he was barely covered in the show, lol.

It was the judge Frank Joseph Polozola who setenced Barry to be at 6PM-6AM at salvation army. Barry refused to go into witness protection. When asked about the sentence is replied "The judge turned me into a clay pidgeon at 6PM"

Seal seemed like an overall likable guy, but at the end of it he pissed of some of the most powerful organizations in the globe

Plot twist: The hitmen were actually Ethan and Benji and killed a terrorist who stole one of their masks.
