American Likes and Dislikes of Marrakech Morocco

Ойын-сауық

Mor Acro explores Marrakech Morocco and is lucky to be caught up in the Morocco world cup buzz. But first it is to the Koutubia mosque and Jamma el fina to take in the Moroccan celebrations and of course the famous moroccan food, tangia. The next day is spent exploring Moroccan souqs while testing our haggling skills. In the afternoon watching the morocco portugal world cup game in the famous moroccan plaza was a highlight. After an evening of Morocco world cup celebration and African food, we spend our last morning in Marrakech at the historic Dar el Bacha coffee cafe for Moka coffee. While it was the most expensive coffee we have had in Morocco, the experience of Moroccan hospitality and Islamic design was worth the price. We explore the Medina of Marrakech with caffeine in our veins and our eyes wide open. The conclusion? We like Marrakech very much and will likely return to have more tangia and atmospheric evenings in this imperial capital of Morocco.

In Morocco there is a strong identity/culture which can be overwhelming for some tourists, but Moroccans do not try to be something or someone they are not, they are proud of their identity and they willingly share it. Morocco is a precious gem in our increasingly uniform world.

Moroccans are sweet to children. How wonderful that such a little traveler experienced this magical land. Think of the enduring memories for her! Also, as a father and grandfather, I'm impressed with what a great trouper she is.

I am very happy that Romy visited Marrakech for the first time and the esteemed Andrea family in this beautiful ancient city that is loved in the world. It is unfortunate that the majority of its residents did not speak English. Thank you Kevin, we enjoyed your tour of Marrakesh with you from afar.

I have been visiting Morocco since 2014. I go there at least once a year when flights from the DC area gets competitive & cheap. When you visit Morocco; first, you have to forget about where are you from and how you live there and try to integrate with the people of the city. First and foremost, try to respect their customs and traditions and avoid harsh criticism. Moroccans are very proud of their societies and their customs. Avoid criticizing Islam because you are in a 100% Muslim country, and you will notice that Moroccans are very respectful of other religions. In big cities, there is a suffocating traffic jam from time to time, but I advise you not to let this crowd spoil your mood and your vacation... Enjoy what surrounds you while you fight the traffic. Moroccans are very warm and hospitable people and they welcome everyone in their country. There is a lot of popular food found in their streets and neighborhoods, and if you see someone selling food and not applying the principles of hygiene, I advise you not to criticize them, and if you do not like the way they prepare food in the street, then do not eat and walk by and do not criticize them … You can enjoy Morocco if you visit any city, Most of the tourists visit the Moroccan coastal regions and do not visit the picturesque interior regions... There is the city of Fez, Meknes, Ifrane, the Atlas Mountains, etc., etc., etc. I advise everyone to visit several interior regions! Enjoy your time in Morocco...!!!👍❤️😍🥰🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦

Oh there's a Bob Music in Marrakech too? There's one in Essaouira which I always go and visit as I've become friendly with the guy who owns it. I surprised him with a visit in October and was greeted with a warm hug when he recognised me, like a long lost friend! I hadn't been since before the pandemic, so wasn't sure if he'd remember me at first. Moroccan friendliness is second to none. 😊

i want to comment about the random peeople touching you. It's part of our culture and also part of any mediterranean countries where people are touchier. Is not something bad or good, it' cultural. Peoplee are gonna come to you easily instead of northern people who touching is kinda prohibited and less or no talk with random people. So I just would like and I hope you understand this and don't judge like most of europeans do with their superiority complex complaining about everything that is different from them because it should be like europe. And of course, forcing people to buy is bad everywhere, so it jusst exist things culturally proper to a country/region and some other universal values to have, the difficulty is to analyse and say what is intrinsically human and cultural and just accept it whether we like it or not. Peace
