@@juliantapia1407 Could have been, but the writers don't have the creativity to come up with anything new. What I propose would not have been new either, rip off half of the Fallout series and they have most of the work done.

Micheal Langdon is just a biological accident dressed up as Darth Vader.

I think this season they wasted a huge chance to make something terrifying but realistic. It would have been nice if the horror elements were more related to real life like they did in season 7. It would have been nice if Michael had been involved in Politics rather than secret societies and stuff.

I think what the writers were implying was that nobody who had that kind of money could have come into it by "honest" means, so he knew that anyone who could afford it would be corruptible, if not already corrupted. That was just how I interpreted it, though, so I could be wrong. I haven't actually seen any source to confirm or deny that.
