My grandfather was a Canadian marksman and he hit the beaches with the Americans. We never really knew what he did until he passed away and then we found his pay cards and he used to get six shilngs per officer. You wouldn't believe the number that was on those cards. In 1940 he was part of the evacuation of Dunkirk as a member of the kings rifles and in 1944 he hit the beaches with the Americans as a total volunteer. We have pictures of him in bastone, Normandy and Dunkirk. He was truly my hero

@@DaveDayve I agree war is a waist. But having served, I think as a country we have the best intentions when going into a conflict. But politics makes it worse every time. And I think many were lost in the great wars for the same reason. We will never learn.

I've a Maltese school friend, Steve, he ships his bikes BRA 500, Matchless and American jeep to Normandy for the reenactments every June. Malta was quite involved in the war. Occupied by the British at the time, Malta was a strategic foothold in the war of Africa that defeated Rommel. It's such a sobering place there, so many died for the sake of freedom. Even Maltese. Hi Rich & Ewa, Greetings from N.I. Say hello to my dad he was on the first wave of landing craft on Juno beach , he was a Royal Navy Gunner puting the Canadians on the beach. He lived till he was 95 and I spread his ashes on the beach as he wanted to be with his comrades who didn't make it. The Canadians put up plaques with the names of all who helped them during D-Day at the beach museum. Love your travels Regards Robert & Carolyn.

That would have been useful! I think we prefer The Eurotunnel
(6:50) by any chance are you guys gonna do stickers. I’m leaving in about a week to go get my new bike and I want to put your sticker on my travel bag.

The pizza machines are all over France... The pizzas tend to be a bit meh. The French love Olives and Eggs on their pizza !

@@Broomswillow I’m 81 and never heard of this!! Must’ve led a very sheltered life I guess!
I wish you well and I look forward to watching the journey. I imagine it's going to be difficult to maintain viewing momentum and keep things fresh. Please don't chase views with click bait headlines. I stopped watching itchy boots because of the click bait headlines and needlessly extreme meanderings. However long it lasts, enjoy it! 👍

Thanks mate we really appreciate your support. Yes it’s incredibly hard to keep content regular and fresh it is easily a full time job but a job we would love to maintain.
I’m sure you maybe exempt from the 90 day rule when travelling with a partner/spouse who has an EU passport.

We can’t seem to get a straight answer on this from anyone. It seems that’s the case for an Irish passport but we can’t seem to find an expert on this sort of thing.

@@ontheroadadventure I’ve a friend who has a British passport and travels with their partner who has an Irish one and they’ve been in EU legit for the last 8 months (mainly Spain and Portugal) I’ll try and find a link.

I think the Irish passport will allow this but I dont think it’s the same with a Polish one?

@@ontheroadadventureI think it will apply to Polish passport holders as well. I tried posting a link but it fails to post. I found info at europa eu under Travel documents for non-EU family members.

We need to speak to someone who knows about these things, we wonder if anything will change when we marry and if it makes a difference where we marry
(12:00) looks like next year‘s flight comes into the airport about 100 miles east of you. I know it’s not Heathrow. It’s the other one Hampton or something like that. Southampton. We’re gonna be in the UK for about a week before we go on our boat cruise. I sure hope I get to meet you guys and take you out to dinner.

You will be very close to the Isle of Wight where our last series of videos was. Make sure you remind us nearer the time and we will try to meet up 👍
