To all the people saying the movie is terrible: It isn't. It was produced for UNDER $10 million which in movie terms is basically recording a home video on a GoPro, and the movie CAN'T have an amazingly shocking plot - it's a bank heist gone wrong. What the director did with it was pretty amazing considering how realistic and emotional it gets

Well you're right but the ending scene really didn't show if Jimmy really got away and lived his life normal. Or if his girlfriend who walked out of her job went looking for him. Look at the other heist movie The Town. At least we get to see what happened to the leading character.

Lock, stock and two smoking barrels had a budget of £960,000 and became a classic with a twist at the end. This film is a 10mil pile of dogshit. So your theory just got destroyed.

@@DAN420. That movie is less than a classic. If it is by any standard, then it is a classic because it is silly, whereas this movie is serious. Ya, some parts are unrealistic, but many movies ( in general and in Hollywood) are too. If you just take this scene for example and you analyze the acting and the script/ story, then I would say that this scene alone is better than smoking barrels. The music made it better as well. Made you feel pretty damn sad.

Going to prison and getting assaulted with toothpaste just to get into character must've been such a sacrafice

For anyone who hasn't seen the film, the man he's holding hostage is his brother. They both robbed the bank, and Frankie was abused in prison and would rather die then go back. by doing this, Frankie bought James enough time to get brought to an ambulance and escape.

Glacier Films produced the film within $10 million range

That's a Chiappa Rhino Revolver. It only took several hundred years since the invention of the pistol before someone realized putting the barrel a couple of inches lower, lining up with the shooters arm, would significantly reduce the kick on a gun.

If you telling the truth that’s crazy. I respect the dedication of the actor but he went too far allowing himself to die for a scene. No one could pay me enough millions to sacrifice my own life. I hope his family is getting royalties for his work. Also in The Revenant movie, Leonardo DiCaprio let a real bear rip at his body. To this day idk how he survived that and making movies like dude a bear ripped you up.

No cop would shoot when someone holding a gun on some hostage's head. And cops taught to not to. Because when he is getting shot from the sniper he could accidentally pul trigger on hostage because of unconscious muscle reflexes and that is a no no. And also when Frankie was chocking when bullet hit his head but in reality the moment a bullet hit someone's head his face will freez and emotionless. Chocking could happened if it was a shot from an arrow of a crossbow because it will not explodes the brain but slowly(i know it is hard to understand but the face reaction won't be instant ಠ_ರೃ , it could happen within 0.5 second) kills the brain of the person by cutting out the signals. And his brother was looking at him he was on ground with his mouth open and when the cops came his mouth was shut. That was another mistake. But all mistakes aside, i love the freaking movie overall.

Not even remotely true. there have been tons of scenarios where a suspect has been shot dead while having a gun to a hostage. a sniper round through the temple often doesn't leave time for reaction.

FritoSalad Think you have it backwards. Primary flaccidity hits first, 15-30min. All muscles relax, then about 2-3 hours after, rigor mortis sets in. (Primary flaccidity is what causes people to void their bowels too I think)

There's a dark explanation to that. He killed the hostage with the brown jacket. Then he planted the gun of Hayden's character to him, so police will think he's the second perp. None of the other hostages will know, since they dont really know each other except those working in the bank.
