American Harvest (1955)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This institutional film was designed to promote Chevrolet's corporate citizenship rather than any specific model of automobile. While it forcefully demonstrates how central automobile manufacturing is to the American economy, it even more strikingly shows the effects of the automobile upon our landscape. Bombastic narration is accompanied by excellent images of automobile manufacturing, the extraction and processing of raw materials from the earth, and mid-1950s consumerism. Cinematography: Gordon Avil, Pierre Mols and Robert Tavernier. Music: Samuel Benavie. Narrator: John Forsythe. Revised from the original 1951 version.

Jam Handy knew how to put a film together, that's for sure. Love the images and messages here.
Not a baboon in sight. Great times
I always enjoy the music an narrators in these vidios.
Look how beautiful the landscape was. Even then.
I'm not sure what the point of this film was, but it was finally, finely fine, and made of the finest of fine materials and the finest of fine workmanship by the finest workers ever in the fine chain of fine production of the finest products made by the finest people in the finest land in the finest point of history ever. :)
When ever we think we know it all we should think of our ancestors, everything now is just an addition to their years of critical brain torture. God continue to bless the old age ..long live the world we live in...
Thank you for posting this!
As an IBEW electrician for 39 years in Detroit, Mi. I am thankful for these industries…. Especially the auto industry…. Steel mills, Auto plants, Refineries have all paid my bills….. I am thankful for all those who came before me….. Building America has been my life….🇺🇸
Here is 50's American pride and optimism at its best. Harmless upbeat corporate propaganda from yesteryear. Sure, they don't talk about the 'negative environmental impact' of the progress shown in this film clip, so what? You'd have to be a bold person in the current economy to argue environment vs. jobs. America needs to bring it's jobs back home from China and India and get moving and progressing again. Remember 2 million extra people will be without unemployment checks by the years end !!
25:00 What a beautiful line-up of cars and trucks...I'll take that dark blue Cameo pickup, please! P.S. Did anyone notice the Bob's Big Boy predecessor at 26:38 ?
It's ironic how a FORD tractor is very explicitly shown at 2:35.
Imagine those workers viewing our highways today. 19 in every 20 cars are foreign owned. What a shame these last generations have done to a once great country.
Kind of nice to know that America has kept her resources while the rest of the world depletes theirs. Once theirs are gone America can still function.
One thing you had in the 50's that you don't have now is taxes on the corporations and the rich, that is one of the biggest reasons why you had so much money flowing in the system back then.

+bfrance2002 oh really? can't be verified.
Nice film describing how all the raw materials to build America's cars come from America. Obviously not the America of today. Paralyzed by environmental regulations.
I'm a denosor born to late
🤠 yeehaw
See the USA, in a Chevrolet... Not in a BMW or Audi or Porsche or Mercedes Benz or Volkswagen please
And then the American people were told it was wonderful progress to ship all the manufacturing jobs to third world countries. The End.
I wish people would learn how to say Oregon. It's Or - E- GUN. NOT Or - E- Gone.
Yeah Yeah that's all good but if it weren't for Ford there wouldn't be a chevy.
Clearly this video does not depict biden's America - few want to work in this society .
Doofus Biden needs to watch this and get an education
