I just love how Glover portrays a god who is at the height of it's power, he is calm and cool despite being all powerful. This is a god who knows all the people of Earth and the connection that binds us all. It's unsettling.

The entirety of Mr. World's scene in this episode is what sold me on the show. From the beginning, I was like, "This is pretty interesting," but I was still kinda on the fence about it. Then I got to this scene, and I was officially hooked. I believe works of speculative fiction are often best defined by the villain, and Mr. World has proven to be the villain of a story worth following

From a reply I made in someone else's comment: What made the first season work was that it had a surreal dreamlike atmosphere that showed and made one feel the type of world Shadow was getting himself into. And the gods actually felt like gods even when they were in rock bottom like Czernobog. You could feel the gravitas, the years, wisdom and power they had in the way they talked and presented themselves. But in season two and onwards the atmosphere was taken out; it felt like watching someone else's attempt at a young adult fantasy series with the "young" half taken out. And worst off, with the exception of one scene with the old gods and one with Mr. World, the gods no longer felt like gods. They felt like old magicians/magical con-artists trying to get back their ability to use magic in a world were magic was running out.

Mr World = Mr World Wide Web? Or just Mr. Internet. Imagine him introducing himself as Mr. Internet. All the old Gods laughing and asking him if his powers are pop ups and pictures of cats. Calmly he talks about them, slowly dismanteling them. In the end he simply retorts that his power is knowledge, all the knowledge.

He's not Mr. WWW. That's Tech Boy. No, he's Mister WORLD. He's the spread of information, of ideas, of standardization. Media and Technology are his henchmen because he's bigger than they are. Humanity spread to every corner of the globe and brought their ideas and traditions and concepts with them, sharing them across landmasses and generations. He is every footstep of humanity, and yet walks two steps ahead of them. He is the global condition, and worldwide control. He knows all because he's part of it as it's happening, and then he makes it happen.
