I love cheesesteaks just as much as anyone in NJ. I ate at a deli that had them in NYC and the line was insane. I briefly thought about just hopping over the border but axed that thought when I saw the long line of traffic leaving NY!

Omg that chef presented pure bliss. Those cheese stakes look like they’re to die for.

Growing up in Philly and South Jersey this looks like my kind of place. Cold beer and fried onions served out of a plastic container. Got to love my jersey people

Donkeys is one of the best places for a jersey style cheesesteak not to be confused with the South Philly cheesesteak two very different sandwiches but similar and both are really tasty we lost a lot of great family run and owned restaurants because of Covid I’m glad to see the donkeys survived all the craziness we’ve had these last couple years

​@@timothyturner2165it's anywhere from 2 to 5 pounds. It all depends on which order u want. They have the big boi which is like 10 pounds. I've never ordered it before. It's way too much 😆 🤣 😂.

My mom took me to Donkeys as a child back in the 70's, it was great then, as it still is today 👍🏼

This is what I love about hard working Americans!

The bread makes or breaks a cheesesteak. I love the paprika on the onions and the way everything is simmered, keeps it from getting dried out.

Out of all the Travel Thirsty videos I’ve watched, I think the cheesesteak videos are my favorite. I live in Nashville TN and would LOVE an authentic cheesesteak place near me. Such good food

The rolls are so good in NJ. You can get those rolls with butter at 7/11. Many people get them on the way to work with their cofffee.

@@jacksonfox2875 Donkey’s Place is known country wide as one of the best steaks. Anthony Bordain even went there and declared it the best Philly cheesesteak that’s not in Philly. 😆 It’s in Camden NJ just over the bridge. I live close by so we have known for years it’s great.

Working man's food, nothing fancy, just good food that fills and warms the stomach. Just beautiful. I pray the business survived the crazy unnecessary lockdowns.

Crazy, this video just popped up on youtube. My Dad took me here in about 1966 when I was 4 years old. He plopped me down at the bar right were the guy with the red cap is sitting at 8 seconds in. Got me a soda while he went to talk with his bookie while he dropped some money on a horse. Forgot all about this place....till now.

The moment I saw them throwing the fried onions into a plastic paint bucket I knew it was a classy place

It's a food quality rated pickle bucket. What's the problem? PLENTY of the food served in 5 star Michelin restaurants comes out of "food rated" plastic buckets/containers. If it has been washed in a proper temperature dishwasher I repeat....what exactly is the problem? Please tell me Chef.

Just cuz the onions go in a pickle bucket don’t mean it’s a bad place to eat. Get off the beaten path and maybe you’ll find some really good food establishments that you never thought was real. The best food comes from local places not corporate restaurants or eateries.I’m all for local places.

It's similar to Philly Cheesesteak from Philadelphia. Here in Brazil, where I live, I put Cheesesteak on the menu of my restaurant like they do in Philadelphia and it's been a big hit. I call it "Cheesesteak Brazil".

Just the idea of being able to make cheesesteaks in which the masses will be able to critique would be a gratifying experience. For them to go home or to work and say "I had the best cheesesteak sandwich, made by so and so" would be a great feeling. Also those sandwich are huge. Wonderful. Blessings.

I love that place! Anytime I travel through New Jersey I stop by.

That is the best version of a steak sandwich i've ever seen. I love the manufacturing process, non-stop sandwiches using the entire grill.

The sandwich looks fabulous. I wouldn't want to be the person that has to do the cleaning.

The ratio of cheese to meat should be even.😂 It's just not enough cheese to to be classified as Philly's original creation. Surely philly has taught Jersey Betta then this. 😂😂

It’s a husky sandwich. The bun shrinks down once juice from the meat soaks in. Trust me.

Theres something satisfingly....harmonious about watching these being made.

I'm sitting here salivating! Went to Donkey's only once but will never forget it. Best cheesesteak ever. They don't have anything like it in N Carolina (or anywhere else I know of).

There are a lot of joints like this in Jersey. There's a place where I'm from that's famous for making a cheese steak hoagie. It's a cheese steak with raw onions lettuce and tomatoes. I grew up eating them.

Used to work in Camden in the 80s, this was the spot to go on payday!!! Great to see there still there, have to get back there sometime!!!!

Hardest working flattop in existence! The huge poppy rolls, not-too-chopped thin ribeye and the caramelized onions, seasoned well, separates this joint from the others.

I've seen and ate a Philly Cheese Steak in Kutztown, PA that would put this one to shame. Never had a better one after having that one.

That looks DAMN good (except for the ketchup). Smart idea too. Really it’s about the same size as a sub roll, but with a round roll it looks much bigger than you’re used to seeing.

Greetings from NJ. Yes, Donkey’s is legit. Their satellite store in Marlton is ok but nothing beats the original in Camden.

The fact that this place has a small bar rt in front is enough reason for me to visit. Those steaks and onions look amazing. Will have to stop by next time I'm playing in Philly.
