Been living in Chicago for 4 years now and my favorite cultural thing is that you can go to any Hot Dog place and say, "I want a dog with everything," and it is dragged through the garden Chicago style. Or you can say "I want one with everything except onions," and they know exactly what you mean. It is by far my favorite way to eat a hot dog, and it feels like the best way. Glad to see people able to enjoy them in NYC!

Whoever is taking orders is a really nice guy lol. You can tell they all love their jobs here.

The amount of love put into each and every one of these is impressive!

So the video was awesome, makes me nostalgic of my hometown Chicago! What was better was all the banter by the owner and his loyal customers! Fantastic! I miss small shops like this....

Watching this makes me so grateful that I am not far away from Chicago. It’s such a great city to visit! If you have a dog, I highly recommend the Montrose Dog Beach located off Lakeshore Drive on Wilson Ave.

I love that the cook takes his time to make the food look good, he has great presentation and that’s important. Some places throw your food together bc they r rushing and it comes out like slop. I love the way their food looks, you WANT to eat it! Omg 😱, my mouth is watering.

Love watching these...I was a professionals trained chef for 23 years...the hum and rythym of a kitchen is music...and those who work the job know things the public does not...I miss it terribly. Kudos to ya kitchen rats out there..you're a rare breed.

Italian sausage sandwich (or better yet get the combo of #2 and #3) 4. Ah yes, one of the great meals of the champions of Chicagoland. Italian Beef Sandwich with hot pickled vegetables and sweet peppers, soaked in au jus, accompanied by a real milkshake and fries. Alternatively you get 2 Chicago All Beef hotdogs with the full garden mix, milkshake, and fries. Living in central Georgia I miss the food stand food of Chicagoland.

She was asking for flour, guess she has a gluten intolerance. If they would dip their wheat bread into the broth, parts of that might mix up with the broth and could travel over to the bread she was going for

Indeed. They were a little skimpy on the hotdogs. Those of us who love the Chicago style hotdog want the makers to really drag the dog through the garden! That pickle spear was way to thin! Lol!

During the winter months, cherry tomatoes actually taste like something. I'd give a pass on that.

I still eat this dish from time to time this is the favorite dish of vietnamese people i will go to mexico to eat this bread in the future

0:15 ouch, Portillos sells the same hot dog for half that. I appreciate that it is a mom and pop restaurant and I would definitely give it a try if I was there.

Funny our Portillo's in Ca does not have mustard, you have to get the tiny packs, I have complained countless times, still the manager refuses.

garden dog...beef hot dog on a rosen poppy seed bun with mustard, relish, pickle slice, onion celery salt and sport pepper....the garden dog. Italian beef, hot giardinara, mozzarella cheese on a fresh baked bread, give it a bath in the juice and stand back.....now, a maxwell polish....with grilled peppers and onion with mustard....that is the holy trinity. add some thin cut cheese fries and you've got heaven.

Listening to some of the people ordering... smh just get the food as it comes. "can i get the beef and the giard w/o the bread:" NO !!

Italian beef looks good but my god ya'll barely give any. Literally a super thin layer of meat that's spread out to cover the roll, and that's it. Really skimping on it...
