The organizers put American within the name of the event. That’s why I put it in the title. It’s meant to mean the event is being held in America.

It would be clearer and less misunderstood if your subject reads : Chinese New Year dragon and lion dance in America. This would definitely be more respectful, culturally sensitive and appropriate.
