    I think a lot in the video is quite true. One thing it didn't touch on was what different regions think about one another. We have "friendly rivallries" with our close neighbours, e.g. Manchester and Liverpool, Lancashire and Yorkshire, North of the Country versus South of the Country, but when we are up against an outside force how we all come together. Happy New Year to you both and all the Natasha and Debbie fans. My 2023 be a good year for all of us.

    The more you love someone the worse the banter gets, one of the best that springs to my mind was my brother in law to my nan. For her 92nd birthday we took her to a safari park she loved animals and was really excited to go, my brother in law drove us and when we got back home my nan thanked all of us and he just nodded, my nan turned to him and said " you are supposed to say it was my pleasure" he responded with " I can't do that Barbara it would be lie" at which point she slapped him 🤣🤣

    @ Natasha and Debbie show. I agree with some and i don't agree with other stuff, I think we are very opinionated (but that's just cause of the British empire. We used to basically run the world and gave the world language culture and law). So i do. Agree with that assumption , plus we descend from ancient Romans and they held thereselfs in very high regards and thought the universe revolves around them( so maybe that very high opinion Brits have is in our DNA) And the tea drinking we love our tea, Another great video from the Natasha and Debbie show Happy new year ladies let's all try and make 2023 better than 2022 was, Ladies some videos i would like to see you react to. As you will be very interested in these videos, 1. The 13 Hours that saved Britain, 2 every country Britain has invaded 3. How 1 mass sh00ting changed UK gunn laws forever, 4 Falklands conflict get in get it over with get home, 5 any video about Nicholas winton (you will really like his story and what he did) Anyway you ladies stay safe and have a happy new year 2023

    Happy New Year girls. I think the lady who said Ireland, most people say this, assuming that you know we mean Northern Ireland. Lager louts really means the younger generation who go abroad, get steaming drunk and behave badly. Most of them do not stop to think what impression of their country they give, and most of them are also the ones likely to end up in A & E . I am a Yorkshire woman and proud, not only of the UK but of my County. I was brought up to respect others, nature, history ect. I have a dry and quick witted sense of humour. I think our younger generations, have missed out on the childhood that we enjoyed. Technology has also affected young people, how many of them know what type of trees grow locally, how to play games. There is also a lack of respect and discipline.

    Binge videos of 15-30 minutes catching up on now, I find it annoying some say southern Ireland, I mainly know Ireland as in south part and northern Ireland, the south bit is normally called Ireland or republic of Ireland You made me check as I thought all Ireland and Great Britain is together but know we only do like rules for northern Ireland, similar to Scotland complaining about government in England controls them than their own one, I wish each had their own but they chat together as like a united system

    Loved the video! I have to say for a long time I honestly never felt proud or patriotic about bring British but by looking at it from the perspective of people from other countries and simply learning more about our own history, I feel more patriotic and proud than ever before. As for the humour, the only people I got on with at work were the one's that I mercilessly took the piss out of and them right back at me. It definitely is a way we show affection towards each other and a way of being completely at ease with each other. I think the important thing we get though is where to draw the line so as to not be cruel, you have to know exactly how far to go so the other person is still laughing and knows you don't mean anything by it.

  • @RandomShart
    @RandomShart Жыл бұрын

    Happy New Year! I would say something evident in the video is that the British do not often celebrate themselves and their country, as they would rather criticise it. Self deprecation is a big thing here, which for the most part is good, but some Brits do become a wall of negativity about their country and home, when actually it's a great place to live.

    Lager-louts are young persons, mostly males, who get drunk and cause trouble, especially abroad. It stems from our historically restrictive laws on alcohol sales and consumption - a time when alcohol could only be served and consumed within very restricted hours. This led to 'binge drinking,' ie. consuming as much alcohol as possible within the permissible hours. Imagine what happened then when those same people found themselves abroad where those same restrictions didn't apply and consequently there was nothing to curb their drinking! This culture is, however, now fading to some extent as more and more drinkers are becoming accustomed to the more relaxed current regulations and learning to pace themselves. As to what we think of ourselves, the only metric that counts is by and large we are proud to be Brits.

    I think the Aussies have better banter than us. They're funny more often and much more laid back in general. I remember the start of the "lager-lout" thing. Men drank pints of bitter/ale and women drank half pints of lager (which the US calls beer). Around the start of the eighties, men discovered that they could stomach way more lager and stay out longer drinking. The woman that mentioned being loud, was purely in association with being drunk and how that loss of inhibition is magnified on foreign soil.

    RE: Lager-Louty sounds like cockney slang for what it rhymes with... Rowdy! Honest, as an American in Britian... Being "loud abroad" is waaaay different than "!American Loud". I think that the first few years I was here I had to learn to tone down my voice when on the train, in public, out and about... I laugh too loud, talk louder and even sing... while becoming constantly aware of how quiet it truly is here. Meanwhile, I have travelled to Copenhagen on holiday- and found that the folks there treated me as if I were "British" as my hubs is very Yorkshire and we were well aware folks were stunned when we were not bothered about football scores and what beers were on tap! Great you're watching a video Brits on Brits, and enjoyed it. Please watch more Brits (resident in the UK) so you can get a 'real' view of the UK. Recommend Jay Foreman (Mapmen and quirky/fun history) Darren John (Good food London eating places), Joolz Guides (London street walks history), Those Happy Days (Van life travelling around the UK Liam and Janine Day). Happy New Year Natasha and Debbie.

    I wouldn’t say “Ireland”, when I meant “Northern Ireland”, like that lady just did, but I know some English people do. The point is that they MEAN Northern Ireland when they say it.

    I think from my travels in Europe, Asia and America, most people I've met think Brits are confident, funny (sarcastic) and a polite bunch. Some of those normally good traits when taken too far can also become arrogant, rude and offensive, and some people hold that opinion 😂 I also agree that globally we are known as drinkers but the old 80s/90s "lager lout" view has largely disappeared and we are now better known as gin and craft beer louts 😉

    Happy new year to you both! We had a very quiet evening in our house. I’m recovering from the nasty flu virus that’s been doing the rounds and my hubby is working today. Our boys are having a lazy day and eating left over cold pizza as I type 🤣 Those kids on the video, your absolutely right, no filter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    One of my very best friends is Irish and I'm a Brit. The first time we were on holiday in Vienna visiting our Austrian friends we had lots of problems. We were in an Austrian bar just chatting amongst friends when the barman asked us to leave and fight outside. Our natural thing is to poke fun of each other and yourself and anyone else. If you cannot laugh at yourself you don't deserve to laugh at anyone else. The bigger the insult or level of taking the piss from each other usually is due to the fact that you respect like and know each other. Our Austrian friends had to explain this to the barman and others. People actually thought we were going to going to fight each other!!! It is just British/ Irish sarchasm wit

    Wishing you both a great 2023! Thank you for all you do with your channel. One important aspect I appreciate so much is that you identify differences but at the same time celebrate them and use them to educate and highlight achievement as opposed to so many in the world that chose to extort to segregate. It’s a pleasure to watch you both and keep entertaining x x x

    Happy new Year Girls 💖 Loved this video, what a great pick to kick things off for 2023. Can't argue with any of the comments made by my kinsfolk in that clip shining a light on all our typically British behaviour was incredibly funny though especially the kids (who we all know you can always rely on to say like it is)! 🤣

    When two Brits first meet it's a race to crack the first joke it's a test to see if we are likeminded (also to see if the other person can take a joke) we tend to use humour as a shield at times and be very self-deprecating If we can get a joke about ourselves in first the is less of a chance of it being brutal lol Happy new year
