Nice review. I was a Flight Attendant for American Airlines, retiring in 2013 after 34 years. I served as a recruiter and new-hire instructor when needed. I worked LHR-DFW many times. In fact, the 777-300 ER was the last widebody aircraft I worked on. I want to comment on thing. You mentioned the extra security screening you and a couple of others were asked to have. As working crewmembers, we had a complete and thorough screening every single we departed. We all had to get off our bus and pass security in a particular facility. The bus was searched while we were inside. Every crew member and 90% of our luggage had a very individual search. The reason for passenger and crew screenings done so thoroughly was that after Pan Am 103 left LHR and was taken down over Lockerby, Scotland, the UK government is determined this will never, not ever happen again, I am glad you had a pleasant flight. Just noticed the flight route for you. You had a special route normally they do these in the summer, but it’s a rare one to go up to Birmingham and Blackpool normally the routes now are via wales and over the southern part of Ireland going north of cork. Fantastic video and look forward to seeing more

Flew this aircraft LHR-MIA…found the J seats hard as a rock.Had to pad it with a pillow to make the seat comfy.Otherwise good food and good crew.Way better than BA on the same route.

Yeah sadly I flew BA in economy and weren’t great. I’m flying them in First Class in July, hoping for better then. :)

This seemed to be a long time ago, as AA now currently flies out from Terminal 3. In fact, I flew the same flight a few weeks ago, but from T3.

I work for an American subsidiary, and I have flown out of both terminal 3 and 5! It's due to spacing and availability with gates that this happens! Nice video

AA was positioned out of T5 in 2020/2021 due to the reduced Covid traffic at LHR. When it picked up again, BA wanted the full terminal (including satalite buildings) back, therefore AA was moved back to T3, as was Iberian.

I live in Budapest and enjoy AA business class. I have been a loyal AA flyer for decades. I have flown them from LHR to Chicago, New York, Dallas and Phoenix. The worst part of the trip is the connection in Heathrow. Even though you clear security in your departing airport, LHR makes every passenger, once again, go through security. And the security lanes are always overcrowded. And, if you are unlucky enough to have to transit from T3 to T5, it can sometimes take more than a half hour just to wait for a bus to connect. I only wish that AA would bring back their flights to Budapest so that I could avoid LHR.

@@pacmanc8103 you might be confusing passport control with baggage screening. Only LHR requires you to go back through baggage screening. AMS, CDG, FCO, HEL, all alow you to only do passport check when connecting to the US.

@@DChatburn1 I’m not referring to passport control. AMS and CDG require transiting passengers to the US to go through metal detectors along with carry-on luggage (I’ve not flown through Rome in years, but I’m sure the same process is followed), as do DOH, DXB, IST, JED, CMN, and numerous other airports I fly through. AMS, DOH, and IST have special gates for US-bound flights for the security checks. LHR does precisely the same thing for all passengers - carry-on luggage is run through X-ray machines, as are passengers. In the US, of course, the same things happens with all inbound international passenger who are transiting domestically or internationally. The difference is that ALL passengers (even international transfer passengers) must go through border control and then through TSA security before boarding any onward flight.

Try flying via Americans other hubs in Europe. Or try another one world partner. I fully understand that but I think when t2 and t3 join up for the super hub things will get better. Sorry about your experience for Heathrow.

Was Plaza Premium the lounge AA sent you to? Couldn't you have used the BA lounge in the B concourse?

At the time, no. AA’s lounges we’re closed and they didn’t send me anywhere. I got in Plaza Premium with Priority Pass. They now allow Business Passengers in their LHR club. Thanks for watching!

@@GenkisTravels there is no AA lounge at T5 (it’s at T3) but you could’ve used BA’s lounges. The B gates lounge is usually nice and quiet compared to the BA lounges on the A concourse

It wasn’t long. Everyone got off the plane, they cleaned it, we boarded. Maybe 1.5 hrs

Re: 10:24 of the video "flight attendants are onboard primarily for your safety..." is one reason not to fly U.S. based airlines. On more premium Middle Eastern and Asian airlines, they say "flight attendants are onboard for your safety and comfort...".

It's quite a detour to fly an Asian or Middle Eastern carrier between LHR-DFW

Next time try the Cathay Pacific lounge, open to all Oneworld business class travelers. I prefer it to BA's Concorde Lounge.

I just flew Delta’s Premium Select (Premium Economy). The food was so much worse on Delta, at least with American, I could eat it haha. I am avoiding US airlines for long flights at the moment however. Thanks for watching!

For business class the food looked so cheap the butter in tin foil packet just says cheap . Totally underwhelming for business class . The prawns not very inspiring. But this is American

"Flight attendants are on board primarily for your safety." That's the American way of saying we don't care about quality service. You've paid your money, sit there, and deal with whatever level of service we feel like giving. Damn, I HATE AMERICAN AIRLINES. Worst America-based airline there is. the monitor looks like something from ten years ago. American flight attendants are always hit or miss. They could learn a lot from the way Singapore Airlines trains their cabin crews, cleans their planes, and keeps their fleet up to date. I've had to endure AA for too long because I'm based in Texas. Their business class is third tier IMO.
