America what a Great band and still touring and making Great music. And I also believe so overlooked by the industry. I still have my America tour shirt that Dewey and Gerry signed when they came to Peoria and played at a riverfront gig. Keep Rocking America and Thank You.

This song brings back memories for me because my dad and I used to sing together everytime it played on the radio either at our house or on vacation down the cape, miss u so much dad. Hope u are hearing this song in heaven I am singing it now in your memory love u

Absolutely LOVE these guys! Cannot wait to see them again this year. Especially since it is their 50th Anniversary Tour! But I have a question. Has anyone else noticed that on the songs that Dewey sings, Gerry always seems to scrunches himself way down when he is singing/playing guitar. It is almost like he is trying to make himself shorter than Dewey? I'm afraid he is going to fall one day. But he never does it when he sings.

America is my favorite group this song and you can do magic my dad and I always sang along with when either song was played on the radio at our house or on vacation down the Cape our 🎤 were pens. Dad we had a such a blast together with these songs always will remember it.I hope u are resting in Peace we the family miss you a lot love you always my wonderful dad.

Exceptional guitarists, both acoustic and electric. I can't imagine what it would have been like to see them when all 3 were in the band. And Dan Peek, IMO, was the best guitarist of them all! Imagine that. RIP Dan Peek

Mine too-- I went about 15 years without hearing it. Then heard it twice on two different radio stations in 1999--both while traveling in NW Ohio.

Oh man do they have so many greater songs. None of them became "hits" either. Have you heard any of their newer material?

America stole the hook for this song from me, which if you ask me is the whole song. I gave it to a girl who was good friends with them at a B.M.I. song pitch in Hollywood, and six months later it was on the radio! They never gave me any credit, which stinks, but at least people got to hear it. True story!!!

The best live version. Sad the sound quality isn’t up to match.

The group America stole this song from me many years ago! I wrote the chorus part and left it with a girl who said she was friends with the group "America". Six moths later I was driving in my car when I heard a song that sounded familiar. Than I realized it was mine! They never fessed up and threatened to sick their lawyer on me for bothering them and Capitol Records.

One great song after another. Did they ever write a poor song?? I don't think so!

It's a bit empty without the ochestral backing and saxophone solo in the original studio version.
