The 1982 NFL season wasn't a marathon, it was a sprint. A players' strike reduced a 16-week schedule to nine that season, leaving teams scrambling to reach the playoffs. Most clubs appeared frantic and rusty after the layoff. But the Washington Redskins dominated under head coach Joe Gibbs.

I'm a native from Washington DC and i remember this time! It was awesome to be a Redskins fan during the 80s and 90s! I'm in my late 50s now but I'll never forget those moments!!!!

Redskins did a great job.
Funny how the helmet logo was different for this season only…the feathers curved around the outer circle instead of hanging down. Apparently bc the feathers weren’t sticking properly. I wonder why they went back to the original style…especially after winning the Super Bowl.

Not just a piece , the whole thing…. The commanders is not the same. I have no interest in that team at all.
HTTR!!! Braves fight for All D.C. I wish they would have stayed with the name. It wasn’t a supposed to be offensive but in powering.

One of the last champions where O-line play set the tone on a North/South team. Not to mention the straight ahead kicker being the MVP. A truly unique team.

Could that also be said of Washington’s other two title teams?
My Cowboys third straight NFC champ loss in a row. I think this one hurt worst than the previous year's "The Catch" because the Redskins beat us down pretty good, especially the Hogs and Riggins over and over. That was a magical year for the Redskins. Entertaining Super Bowl against the Dolphins too.

Not sure I understand why it says "Contrary to popular myth, Theismann never won the Heisman." ... That's not a popular myth. If you follow college football at all, you know he never won it.

The replacement players played in the 1987 NFL strike season. And the Redskins honored those replacement players with 1987 super bowl rings! Redskins replacement were 3-0!
