America's BEST Business Class | JETBLUE Mint Studio

Join me onboard the brand new jetBlue studio from Los Angeles all the way over to the New York's JFK. This is one of the world's newest business class products and is flown on jetBlue's newest routes across the pond to London Gatwick and London Heathrow. I'll give you my brutally honest review of the studio and also the suites - yes there are two different business class products on the same plane.
As always in my trip reports, i'll be looking at the food service, what the bed is like, the lounge offering and overall experience for the money. Should you fly this? Well let's head over to LAX and find out together.
For background jetBlue name their Business Class MINT... I know, different right! And in my opinion demonstrate how the US should do Business Class... or what many domestic carriers like to refer to.. as First Class...

JetBlue’s mint has always been praised so much that people don’t talk about how good the economy experience is. It actually has more leg room than the major carriers on transcontinental routes and free-WiFi that’s pretty fast. This is always my go to airline for domestic travels in the US

I'm from Scotland and my husband and I both have 'Trusted Traveller', the Pre check is amazing, no standing in Immigration queues when you land, you just go the same way as the US nationals and it's so quick, it lasts for 5 years and is worth every penny c.£150 you also have to go initially for an interview with their Homeland Security at specific airport, but then that's it. 100% recommend it.

Ahh, LAX....the Under Construction Forever airport. Haha. I agree the price is "competitive", but for that amount, they really need to cut a deal with an airline lounge or with Amex for the Centurion lounge. I paid $400 USD for a first class seat from DFW to LAX back in October on Alaska Airlines...and I had access to their lounge in LA. For some reason, only Alaska Airlines allows lounge access to their First/Business class flyers in the US. That said...I love flying JetBlue! Great seats! Great IFE!! and even greater crew!!! Plus the Even More Speed/Space stuff make it that much more enjoyable. Have not tried Mint yet, but will plan that for 2022. Need to fly a bit out of my way to do so, but I suspect it will be worth it. Great review as always! Look forward to the next one!!

@@Trektrendy This is only true on flights between SFO/LAX and JFK and sometimes BOS and only on special premium classes (e.g. Delta One or United Polaris). None of the big three offer this for flights from Seattle, despite the fact that a number of those flights (particularly to Florida) are longer. For most Americans this means that they don't see "free lounge access" on their transcon flights, unless they live in SF, LA, NYC or Boston, even when flying first. However Alaska Airlines, not one of the big three, offers lounge access to all first class fliers, if you're in an airport with an Alaska lounge.

I flew JetBlue from LGW - JFK (return/economy) and was blown away by it - when I booked I had the option of upgrading to Mint for £240 each way and didn't - really regret that but that's not to say the economy experience was bad - far from it. I've had worse BA flights and will look to book again with JB. The economy food choices are good, and you select using the touch screen what components you want before departure - along with the unlimited* food and drink throughout the flight I was very impressed. I've flown similar distances with other airlines and been charged for everything except water.

I took the Mint suite class a few years ago on a whim. Our company paid for my economy seat from SFO to IAD so I paid the extra to bump myself up to Mint. I loved everything about my seat. I'm spoiled with the comfy lie flat seat and blanket that kept me warm while I slept. The area was roomy. Lots of places to store your items like glasses, phone, charger, book, etc. It also had a sliding door for semi-privacy. The food was great and I also had their specialized Mint drink. If the opportunity ever presented itself again I would fly the Mint suite in a heartbeat.

My question is the elite flight option something that a Jet Blue Credit card member is offered as an upgraded and or discounted perk to having a JetBlue card? And if so, would you recommend anyone who is considering flying JetBlue to also look into applying to a card that offers certain advantages. See I personally live in the states, that while I have never had a bad experience on a JetBlue flight, I don't know if I should commit to only flying JetBlue if ever I want to fly an upgraded class for a similar price to other companies. Thoughts, and thank you in advance.

The personal TV and the new upgrades to them are incredible! So many options plus games that you can play against each other. The prices too we have gotten have been amazing. I have never spent more then $120 each way for tickets. Usually always under $100 from Newark to Orlando. We did get the Jetblue credit card to help with their frequent flyer "True-blue" points too.

I don't need a bed for a 5 hour flight. I just need enough leg room so I'm not cramped. People will say "you are just poor". The thing is, I would rather take 5 premium economy trips, vs 2 first class trips. I find on most flights if I can book the emergency exit seat, thats more than enough room for me.

I’m going to be flying jfk to sfo in may, I’ll be flying one of the premium products either this or AA a321 first. At the moment the jet blue price is double AA!! Worth it, or go AA for half?

I know, but it seems people focus more on the mint without telling the awesome economy. I do wish like like he said they have a lounge since this could be better for them. And I would say is better to wait in other to do it fine and have a good lounge. Overall, all in jetblue in my opinion is awesome

Great review! Grammar nitpick: It's "LIE flat," not "LAY flat." People lie down. Or lay themselves down. Or lay something else down. Really. I'm not lying.

For LAX-JFK, i prefer AA first if you want to chill in the lounge. The prices are hit or miss tho. Also AA miles are much more valuable than jetblue

It’s absoulutely brilliant how all of this is on a a321😅. This can easily beat the european business class counterparts.

While it is true that jet blue doesn’t have their own dedicated lounge, if you have the executive American Airlines card or a subscription to the admirals lounge, you can use that lounge. Most people don’t know that but if you read the terms for the admirals lounge it says JetBlue customers can use the lounge. Only issue is that you cannot use the lounge for international flights which is a bummer so honestly the only option you have is to try for a centurion card for the Amex club, hope your airport has a capital one club, or fly United or delta or a different airline or just fly American and have the credit card with lounge access with said airline.
