America Ferrera: 'We are still just fighting to be visible’ - BBC 100 Women, BBC World Service

Спорт

Actress, producer and director America Ferrera has built a career fighting against the labels that everybody told her would hold her back. But beyond her recognisable roles in the series Ugly Betty or the 2023's record-breaking blockbuster Barbie, Ferrera is a committed activist working to engage Latino communities and has even invested in women's football.

She seems pretty conformist with her capitalistic narcissist activism.

I agree with her statement that instead of paying tons of cash on hosting (sometimes useless) diveristy panels about womens’ rights, use that cash hiring women to create and build things. It’s simple

Portuguese and Spanish also have the name América and Américo. There's also an italian form. In fact, America was named after Amerigo. Vespucci.

Nope. I'm a great great great grand trust fund child and I know everything. The fact that I've been so successful since birth is proof of that and i don't need a government mandate to do anything. I represent 3/4 of those serving in congress. I'm successful no matter what so I don't have to be nice to women. My daddy said I don't have to be nice to anyone, and when my daddy speaks the ground shakes! In case you couldn't tell I'm Matt Gaetz, and Donald Trump, and James Comer, and well, you get the picture.

20:50 She's right. Men keep hiring their buddies or young mediocre-skilled men from the boys' clubs and by pass highly intelligent, educated and trained women over and over again which results in mediocre productions. Why? I have a few guesses, but the bottom line is that the industry needs a root canal to kill this biased approach to business (as do so many other industries).
