I'm astounded at the legato! I have heard other singers of this era use similar techniques although GC uses it with flair and elegance. I have never heard another singer with this same sound and use of all sorts of musical mechanics. Wow!

I can't imagine any of the other great coloraturas of yore--Sembrich, Melba, Tetrazzini, or even Patti--singing a song such as this with the same charm and elegance as Galli-Curci. Apart from Alma Gluck, she really is a female John McCormack in her delivery of operetta pieces and popular songs.
