Nice I like the temperature 70/80ºC playing is nice with high resolution and high video settings in some games, but if you play with 30 fps lock in msi afterburner (River Turner) will the temperature lower even more? it would be nice, or no matter what you do the temps will be always around 70/80ºC?

Well there is no dedicated vram. It's 0MB. It's an APU able to take 512MB up to 2GB AUTOMATICALLY of your normal ram as vram. Nothing for you to worry or care about. Easy life.

What version of minecraft were you playing on the clip?

You integrated graphics called Radeon graphics is taking 512MB up to 2GB AUTOMATICALLY of your normal ram. It has got 0MB dedicated own cram. You don't even realise what amount it is taking because this happens hidden. Upgrading your ram to more than 8GB won't give you more allocated vram. But upgrading to 12 or 16GB ram will make your games run way better Because 8gb is also insufficient in a lot of titles in 2022.

The 5500U. But be sure being it paired with dual channel ram. Makes a huge difference compared to single channel ram.

Vram and ram is different. You should upgrade your ram to 16gb and increase vram once you have 16gb

Do what I did change the thermal paste. now under-load gaming never go over 60C also use thermal pads on ram and ssds ect

Ok first of all there is a lot of misunderstanding and false information on your side. There is absolutely 0MB dedicated VRAM. The 5500U is an AMD APU able to take 512MB up to 2GB AUTOMATICALLY as VRAM (not dedicated VRAM) of your normal ram. You can't have any impact on that one it's going to take as much as needed. The 512MB that is displayed as VRAM on your system is simply the minimum amount that it's taking. That's why 512MB is displayed but not 1 or 2GB. That's simply a fact that you'll have to get along with. If you can't do that nobody will be able to get you rid of that problem that is simply only persisting in YOUR brain. In fact there isn't any VRAM problem. Change your attitude towards that topic. But I also know why you're worried about the VRAM. Because your system is simply delivering a horrible performance in games. And now you think it's something VRAM related. It is not! You're simply running on a totally outdated number of system ram. Come on dude 4GB in 2022??? That is a ram number that has been used in mid 2000s. What are you expecting? Upgrade your system as soon as possible. To either 12 or 16GB. If you don't know how to do that contact a local computer store. Upgrading your ram will make your system running a couple of times faster. If you upgrade from single channel to dual channel ram there will be a performance boost even if you add just 2666Mhz. However since the market became global it's not that hard to import 3000Mhz ram.

I'm playing FIFA 18 on 8GB single channel with Ryzen 5500U and I'm struggling to consistently get 60 fps. I get regular drops/lags to about 40-45. Is my laptop not properly optimized since you seem to be getting 90 odd fps that too in Fifa 22

You gave the proper answer already yourself. Upgrade to dual channel ram and you should be all fine.

You shouldn't care about your video memory at all. There is and will never a video memory related issue. If you're not happy with your performance it's simply because you're using an integrated graphics that isn't supposed to and will never reach the performance of a dedicated gpu.

Its even better in csgo! Just set rezolution to 900p, normal/high settings and boom, solid avg 120 fps!

How do you think it would do for music production(FL studio , Ableton etc)

kzread.info/dash/bejne/nJ2sxrB6ftXch9Y.html That's what your temp limit is for. You can set a free temp limit in Ryzen controller. For example keep it at 85°C at 25W and you'll do fine. However even 90°C up to 95°C are no problem for the 5500U. Just would recommend setting the team limit lower than 90°C in the long term use. And remember: A device will never get harmed by temperature. Because before reaching that point it's always going to shut down automatically to prevent from any damage.

The reason in fortnite that there are a little bit of like lag spikes is because the fps is unlimited. You have to cap it to get the best performance on a lower end laptop like this.

Thank you for the review. My main concern was about the CPU temperature abd its downclocking and it does look like an issue here. What's the point in 6 cores if you can't run them at full speed all the time or risk damaging the cpu long term constantly running it above 80C. I'll look for other solutions.
