Awesome, on behalf of my daughter, wife and myself thanks for letting us know about what to expect when we get back to the theater! The family still loves the Drive In, (Ruskin twice in the past month) and that is thanks to you bro for reminding us via your excellent Lakeland blog! Little things about how the popcorn gets nice and buttery can get people wanting to see another movie outside of their house, man that popcorn looks good! Great video again, you rock guy!

Exactly! People will sneeze and cough with their masks off while eating, many won’t even put them back on at all, and I highly doubt there will be across the board safety procedures at the same level across each theater chains’s huge national footprint. Get ready for HUGE covid spikes across the country in 2 weeks. Reopening theaters now is asinine.

@@CelonixCleaningServicesLLC A scam? Buzz off. My 91 year old uncle died in a nursing home alongside dozens of others last April, and we couldn’t be there with him in the end. So the 2 million people dead from it didn’t have COVID?

I think even if AMC does go out of business theaters in general will continue to survive in some fashion. Theaters are apart of the movie culture and even if there are less of them the theater going experince is unique one and will survive in some way just like drive ins. I went through a traumatic experience at a theater and find it hard to enjoy the experience, as much as I love it the event has been a bit tainted for me though I'm lucky enough to have converted my spare bedroom into a theater room with actual AMC chairs and a 150 inch projector. I mainly only go to the theater for the major franchise releases anymore or if friends want to drag me to something.

I have a 150 inch projector theater room set up now so I dont rely on humanity for my movie theater needs thats a plus for me.

The tickets were $.15 only on the 20th I believe that was the official opening. The classic movies are all five bucks and the new runs a regular price.

I feel weird about going back to the theaters... and it has NOTHING to do with Corona Virus. Ready for it? I'm an AMC A-lister and watched movies all the time and loved it.. but the people working their drop the ball SOOO many times. My experience. (I usually go to AMC at Del Amo mall in Torrance)... I've watched movies there last year and couple times they forget to turn the lights off. Someone has to walk out of the movie theater to tell somebody. I mean come on... really? A couple other times they have a Windows desktop picture on the screen andnu already know its not working or setup right when u sit down. And if they DO get it running right they played movies with the same trailer back to back. Happened numerous times. You can hear people sigh when it comes on again. One time the same trailer played 3 times in a row. People were mad. Also about 10 times, yes 10.. of the 100 movies i saw last year they never even started the movie. They have someone come in the theater whose like 15 or 16 saying they're having technical issues and it'll be like 15 minutes. Then half an hour passes and then they tell people sorry but the movie isn't going to show. They DO give free passes so thats good but its sad you wasted part of ur day just sitting there. Also the theater door numbers dont have what movie is playing so if u lose ur ticket or something u cant figure out which theater to go into. Also the cleanliness OMG the cleanliness. I always look before I sit down but I.saw seats that were wet and so much trash on the floor even AFTER they clean up. You can even smell it too. I'll forever be a movie buff and love watching movies in theaters but im on the fence about going anymore but I think movie theaters may be on their way out. My friends 82" Samsung TV in his home looks just as good if not better than the IMAX quality in the movie theaters. So anyways, thats my 2 cents. Im glad ill be able to watch Mulan on Disney+ without wondering if there will be issues again. Man such a head scratcher to wonder about seeing a movie in movie theaters again.

Jeez. That sounds like...even worse than what I expect from a cheap rundown movie theater. There's just no excuse for that, especially for AMC. The last time I've been to AMC, which was a couple of years ago, I noticed they no longer use masking. But the trailers and movies play properly. I usually go to a state-based theater (Harkins) and they make sure the presentation is right. Kinda disappointing to hear because I like the decor and overall design of AMC.

So excited to see a movie on the big screen again! :)

Man I miss going to the movies sooo much. Just the feeling you get when you sit down on those seats when your movie is about to start. The setting is just right and you have your popcorn and your drink. I miss it so much. I still won’t be able to go for a long while. I’ll be so excited to go when the time comes.

Wow! Just yesterday, me and my nephew watched The Dark Knight and we had to sit like two feet away from someone because we wasn’t sure on who was or wasn’t sick... and the workers didn’t allow refills for the drinks (Hollywood Theater ; Jacksonville,Fl) and the lights dimmed when the movie started and not many people showed up.

Lol they left the cleaning lights on. Me: I demand a refund, my movie was ruined. AMC: ummm, it was free

I just went back to the movie theaters (Harkins). Presentation was good overall. For one thing, the lights do turn off. I think they are programmed to with the 'smart' technology in the multiplex. Picture was a bit dull, looking kinda like how my phone displays HDR, but I'm sure the 'CINE' screen has a brighter, more vivid picture. I saw Sonic the Hedgehog... HEY!!! I figured with this whole...year, I could use something a little lighthearted. Yeah, go ahead and laugh, y'all deserve a good laugh. 😉

Last movie my roommate and I saw before the Pandemic: Knives Out First movie we saw when movies opened back up: PREY I have missed the theater experience! The sights, the smells, sounds. Sitting at home with the t.v cranked, dollar tree candy, microwave theater butter popcorn and bottled soda wasn't the same!

Lol I work here I’m the guy with the white/blonde hair next to my coworker rowen that you got, that’s awesome keep coming we are fully open and our hours will get better we also have the self served butter turned on now and now have the freestyles drinks hands free so all you have to do is scan the code with your phone and select your drink and your good to go! thanks for coming and supporting amc ;)

You know what's fun? Just going to the theatre and buying a large popcorn with butter and take it home and enjoy!!!

Here in the Midwest we have AMC and Marcus theaters. Both are open now. I prefer Marcus because of their spacious stadium seating with push button reclining seats. Their seats are so comfortable I could easily fall asleep when it is fully reclined. I went to see Tenet today. Awesome movie!!

Me neither to experience Black Widow on May 7th before VE Day celebrations I’m doing again

I just invested in a big 4K tv, a Sonos sound system and some comfortable chairs and I still haven’t been back.

Omg holy shit I was actually at that screening!! Was it Friday the 21st? Someone in the crowd went to tell them to turn the lights off and when they did, we all clapped for a second. And we clapped again when the movie ended haha. It was great seeing empire strikes back on the big screen!

I went too it was great being back and seeing it in the theater.

Thank you for doing this report. I tried to do my own due diligence on Facebook but I don't have enough followers. You did a great job. I had a wonderful time at the AMC Veterans 24 on this past Sunday to see Beauty and the Beast. It was great. I am so happy that the movie theaters are open again and I think they did a wonderful job and I hope they get to stay open and get more business with people like Us giving them kudos. I have subscribed and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

This looks like the Brandon, FL AMC. They have recliners in the very front rows, & plush rockers for the rest of the seats. I’ve been there before & like those seats.

I live in Vancouver WA and i would STILL go to the movies but only if its almost EMPTY, which is the way i USUALLY GO in normal times, ive been doing that since the mid 1990's. I have gone to regular showings of certain films because some films are better when it's a larger crowd , i can't explain it but certain films are better with bigger groups.

While I miss the movies, I don’t want to take a chance until we have a COVID vaccine. Eating in a theater during a pandemic? Nope!

I wish amc was open in california where I live. I really miss going to the movies 🥺

AMC theaters in CA already reopened

I always look back at this video for 3 reasons. 1 being the fact that movie theatres are reopening, the 2nd reason being that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father and the 3rd one being the atmosphere of the video.

I haven’t been to the movie theater in years and I’m going tomorrow it’s gonna be super fun!

I’m going to a movie theatre to see the new Jurassic world movie with some family members and I won’t have to wear a mask since it’s been a year and it’s calmed down and I’m really excited since I haven’t gone since 2019.

Whats the purpose of going to the show if they don't turn off the lights WTH if they Fina start doing that iam good rather chill with Netflix at home then 🎦

AMC is finally open in Los Angeles county as of May 2021. I plan on picking up my free birthday (April) popcorn too lol. I love the movie theater experience.

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm old enough that I saw every Star Wars movie in the theater on its original release. The original Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. And it looks like The Rise of Skywalker will be the last movie I ever see in a theater.

Did the lights stay on for the movie?

Just went to watch TENET today which was mindbending, only 8 people in my screen. Theatre seat distancing in U.K. screens they leave 2 empty seats each side of you. Also you wear a mask through the foyer and through to your seat, you can then remove it while the film plays.

Drummond Stuart they did. The gentleman in the blue hat went and told them that they were on. They were left on by mistake. :)

And even with all of this pilled up, they don't even spare you any discount on prices, full price baby" all the way"

Unfortunately I have Regal Cinemas where I am, so my indoor movie theaters still aren’t open, also because I’m in California, but at least the drive in theaters are open where I am

7:49 I could hear the mitchells vs the machines when they play the trailer inside the theater

I want to go so bad. New jersey won't open theaters yet very sad. I have my Birthday Popcorn 🍿 waiting for me too

There is a Movie theater kind of similar to AMC. It’s called regal. They have good portion size that’s good stuff good movies.

Hmm nice! I'm going tonight for the first time, going to my Alamo Drafthouse to see tenet. If you never been to one it's a theater where you get serviced in theater. You order everything (food, drink, desert...) right from your seat, so already it cut out concession lines. They do have a weird rule however that says I have to make any food or drink order beforehand. Which, is fine cause I knew what I wanted. They do have all the social distancing rules and they have a rule that I only saw on airplanes: *exit by row* which is probably the most common sense thing ever and I wish it stays on after pandemic ends.

@@TampaJay lot's of fun, they're always doing fun showings of classics. Food is great, free refills on popcorn and soda and you don't gotta leave your seat, and they have milkshakes!

I love that the one in my area open and the ticket prices are cheaper at 8.39 for an adult ticket and free unlimited refills on self serve icees and sodas :D

Glad someone else thinks this way. Streaming services can't fully replace an actual movie theater.
