Thank you. Hoping to find so0me stories about my world (theatre) I had read a volume of the novel "Wilhelm Meister" years ago. We need the old days of the strolling players, like in the classic film "les Enfants du Paradis" /"the Children of the Gods". Not mixed periods, a red plush drop curtain, frames (picture, neon etc.), even cellophane which wasn't invented until 1900. Good orchestra, chorus and cast. I have heard many of Jodie Devos's recordings which are plentiful. Thank God because she was recently taken from us by breast cancer at the age of thirty-five. How nice to see her acting talents matched her vocal prowess. I'll take a look at Thomas's "Hamlet" and hope the gravedigger isn't messed around with. In a "production" I was in I was the mortician. How did Prince Hamlet recognise the jester from a jar of ashes instead of a skull? My song was more like a folk-song. I liked Shostakovich version for bass. I'll see how Thomas set it.
