It's the cost of land , that that is too expensive . Flood the market with affordable blocks and housing costs will fall . There won't be so much of a shortage . You can buils a house with sticks and stones . No one ever mentions the cost of land , over 1,000 a sqm . As if we're running out of land . Not enough land release gready devolopers . land banking , slow release and government taxes . This country is screwed . The agerage folks just take it .

Well when I say 'house' it was only a hole in the ground covered by a piece of tarpaulin, but it was a house to us.

Build cities inland. The cities are already over-crowded and congested. Quality of life is declining. Provide incentives for ppl to move elsewhere.
