An extremely powerful and accessible synth...especially for ambient.

Yes thanks 🙏🏻 chris reviewing this video again and I have Pigments three
I love watching people play with my favorite synth.
It's such a pleasure watching you do this! Of all the synths I have (too many!) Pigments is my "desert island" synth. It may not have 8 layers like Dune 3 or the nearly inexhaustible oscillators and modulators like Phase Plant, but it has enough, and it is so beautifully designed and so open to playing around with. All my best sound designs came out of Pigments. With the colors and the constant motion of the LFOs etc, playing it is like floating, dreamy,. What a gorgeous synth, rarely is there a piece of software this beautiful and pliant.

I love everything about this comment. Thank you so much!
Cameron’s Pigments videos are some of my favorites, and finding this series on your channel felt like Christmas morning!! I’ve been holding off purchasing Pigments but I think now is the time. Thanks as always Chris!
4:36 hey just so you know, if u freeze a track and right click & flatten, its essentially bounce. No need to export like that, js.
SUCH A GREAT VIDEO! Having so much fun experimenting. Thank you so much! I found it easiest to just resample the piano in another track then drag it into pigments, just an alternate way to do that incase it fits someone else's work flow too! :)
I have been a Pigmens owner...for four days and its bonkers!
Dude. I’m late here but this vidéo is absolutes 🔥
Brilliant Chris! Thanks!
As usual, great insight, Chris. FWIW, I never come away from Pigments granular synthesis thinkinking it sounds good. Not vompared with at least a few other sift synth's who get their filtering right.
Top****one of the best Pigment 3 videos out there to make ambient pads*More please
Excellent video Chris
I had some questions which I thought would be answered in years and you sir just solved them in 20 minutes! Thank you very much for uploading such a constructive video!

That's so great to hear. Cheers to you!
Youve just answered so many questions I had on this synth. Great vid mate
God that was fun to watch
Nice video. It inspires a lot. Thanks.
Thank you for the great insight.
I didn’t know about the Modulator tuning! Fantastic stuff!
amazing!
Nice tutorial, thx
Beautifull man...
very very nice, thats I'm looking for, thanks a lot captain! 🙂
thanks for this video, i have been using serum for awhile and am trying to decide if I want to give pigments a try, this was very helpful.

You are quite welcome. Pigments is a really compelling package - and this is coming from someone who doesn't use many other Arturia synths! Pigments has a lot to offer.
Thanks so much Chris! I bought this synth a long time ago and never got around to learning it. Now I got one of my fav YT'ers doing a series on it! Hope to see a bunch more! EDIT: Any chance you might be releasing some presets for it, or do another preset making party for it?

I'm strongly considering it now! Pigments is so much fun. A bit heavy on the CPU though.

@@s1gns0fl1fe I second the idea of you making presets for Pigments. I love your "Anomaly" set for Vital, it'd be great to have a have a Pigments set from you as well.
some great stuff here... going to have to return a number of times to take everything in ;-D
A Tip for exporting/rendering Audio in Ableton: Grab the Melda Production Free Bundle. in there is MRecorder, a small but versatile Recorder Plugin that does most of the work for you. Put it on the track you want to record, set Fade in and Fade out if needed, Hit Record (first time you have to tell the Plug in where to store the recordings) and youre done. If you have the Output Folder of MRecorder in your Folder List in Ableton you can grab the recorded Audio from there almost emidiatly.
To sort of bounce in place, after you freeze your track, just copy and paste the frozen clip into an audio track clip slot. It will print an audio clip for you that you should be able to drag into a sampler. Cheers :)

any idea why it does not work to freeze the track, flatten it (so it becomes audio) and drag that flatten audio file into pigments? seems like an internal bug of ableton because I'm sure this was possible in the past (maybe just with internal sampler)

@@SecondUniverse101 I dont have Pigments, but try dragging the flattened clip to an audio track first, then try to drop that into pigments. It might not work dragging and dropping to pigments just from the frozen clip. You could also try saving your project and opening the project location in the browser and dragging the audio in from there. Hope that helps!
Amazing!!!! Thank you very much for the walkthrough...Could we make a pad for epic Trance Breakdowns? :) I believe Pigments would be amazing for that... Please do more for Pigments...As you have said we have not scratched surface yet...
Hey .. great video thank you. In the first couple of minutes you mentioned "The Ambient 18000s and 200s" for the reverb EQ. Sounds like you are referring to an Ambient style tip? Please can I ask what you were talking about? I think I've missed this one. thanks
Pigments landed 👍
I have pigments 3 man wow 😯 much love to you Chris brother and also my friend Cameron peace ☮️ yall laters 👋🏻

Yeah Pigments is such a great synth. I'm just starting to find out how great. CPU hungry, but that will get ironed out over time.
Wow cool thanks 🙏🏻 hope you are well as usual lol 😂

LETS GONNA MAKE AMBIENT MUSIC!!!! 👀🌌
Really impossible to see anything in this Pigments window. I also have a hard time tracking where your mouse is.
Max for live plugin B.i.p bounce in place
there are soo many options nowadays so its kin of distraction
I love this synth but I wish making one pad with it didn't absolutely destroy my CPU
