    It's such a pleasure watching you do this! Of all the synths I have (too many!) Pigments is my "desert island" synth. It may not have 8 layers like Dune 3 or the nearly inexhaustible oscillators and modulators like Phase Plant, but it has enough, and it is so beautifully designed and so open to playing around with. All my best sound designs came out of Pigments. With the colors and the constant motion of the LFOs etc, playing it is like floating, dreamy,. What a gorgeous synth, rarely is there a piece of software this beautiful and pliant.

    Cameron’s Pigments videos are some of my favorites, and finding this series on your channel felt like Christmas morning!! I’ve been holding off purchasing Pigments but I think now is the time. Thanks as always Chris!

    4:36 hey just so you know, if u freeze a track and right click & flatten, its essentially bounce. No need to export like that, js.

    SUCH A GREAT VIDEO! Having so much fun experimenting. Thank you so much! I found it easiest to just resample the piano in another track then drag it into pigments, just an alternate way to do that incase it fits someone else's work flow too! :)

    As usual, great insight, Chris. FWIW, I never come away from Pigments granular synthesis thinkinking it sounds good. Not vompared with at least a few other sift synth's who get their filtering right.

    You are quite welcome. Pigments is a really compelling package - and this is coming from someone who doesn't use many other Arturia synths! Pigments has a lot to offer.

    Thanks so much Chris! I bought this synth a long time ago and never got around to learning it. Now I got one of my fav YT'ers doing a series on it! Hope to see a bunch more! EDIT: Any chance you might be releasing some presets for it, or do another preset making party for it?

    A Tip for exporting/rendering Audio in Ableton: Grab the Melda Production Free Bundle. in there is MRecorder, a small but versatile Recorder Plugin that does most of the work for you. Put it on the track you want to record, set Fade in and Fade out if needed, Hit Record (first time you have to tell the Plug in where to store the recordings) and youre done. If you have the Output Folder of MRecorder in your Folder List in Ableton you can grab the recorded Audio from there almost emidiatly.

    To sort of bounce in place, after you freeze your track, just copy and paste the frozen clip into an audio track clip slot. It will print an audio clip for you that you should be able to drag into a sampler. Cheers :)

    any idea why it does not work to freeze the track, flatten it (so it becomes audio) and drag that flatten audio file into pigments? seems like an internal bug of ableton because I'm sure this was possible in the past (maybe just with internal sampler)

  • @jasonchambers6787

    @jasonchambers6787

    @@SecondUniverse101 I dont have Pigments, but try dragging the flattened clip to an audio track first, then try to drop that into pigments. It might not work dragging and dropping to pigments just from the frozen clip. You could also try saving your project and opening the project location in the browser and dragging the audio in from there. Hope that helps!

    Hey .. great video thank you. In the first couple of minutes you mentioned "The Ambient 18000s and 200s" for the reverb EQ. Sounds like you are referring to an Ambient style tip? Please can I ask what you were talking about? I think I've missed this one. thanks
