😂 You're 1st I've heard say it should've been real violence. But I think you're forgetting an old saying: Hell hath no fury like a scorned woman. When really hurt, we want the truest revenge, which isn't killing. It's making the one that hurt you feel just as hurt, & real hurt doesn't go away quickly. We also want to make them understand the depth of our pain, so they really regret hurting us in the 1st place. (Like the song says, forgetting is hard to do.) She's simultaneously sad it didn't work out, angry over something he did (the way Barbie slaps Ken as she's talking with her friends about him), yet she still misses him & certain places remind her of them together, making her sad, mad, & hurt all over again. She can't get him off her mind enough & it's driving her crazy. So now she's gonna deliberately do her best to replace all the hurt & sad with good things by spending her time with friends & new lovers, but enter the revenge: She's gonna make him watch, over & over & over & over. She's gonna make him see what he's missing out on. She's gonna make him regret it, not only now, but for years & years, maybe the rest of his life. So he wasn't really in the basement with her & neither were the friends. They are just mannequins. What we're seeing is the images in her mind conjured by the thought of forcing him to watch her move on & find joy in her life again & replace him, *& since she's a singer with a new video out for a breakup song, curiosity over it is bound to have her ex check it out, just to see/hear how she portrays him. So she's gonna dance all sexy & carefree & show herself making out with a hot guy in the video!* Yeah, she even mentioned that when she originally imagined the video in her head, there was actually a *series* of hot guys she would kiss, to represent the moving on she's been doing. Only then she didn't really want to kiss that many strangers, even if they were actors, which is why she asked her good friend Mike who is a fellow actor/ KZreadr to do just 1 good kiss scene.
