Yes, he wasn't in any administrative or Constitutional post, reason can be personal or Strategic, he could have less understanding about politics or less interested. I definitely can see his ideological standpoint, which is socialist philosophy for socialism and mixture of socialist policy and capitalism, more towards socialist principle in his economic Philosophy. Based on above information, he was probably working more towards congress organisational work ( Both NSUI, state level and Central level )and spreading ideological footprint in the general public. Also I think after death of his Grandmother Indra, father Rajeev and uncle Sanjay, there family only decided to help congress to comeback in the government and helping congressional ideology to spread to the general public. Congress was loosing both ideological and political battle soon after death of Rajeev Gandhi, most importantly after PV Narasimha Rao I feel Sonia Gandhi was not interested in becoming PM or getting an constitutional post, due to ethical reason or could be political similarly Rahul Gandhi was asked for the PM post in 2009, and he rejected. It simply means they were interested in power, but not position, they are only family who truly can take forward Congress ideology, after the incident with his father and Grandmother, it could be a psychological factor to get scared of being in such powerful position. In recent times he accepting to be LOP is a signal that he is ready to give challenges to BJP in all areas. BJP Government is one of the worse as far as economy is concerned and the ideology or narrative they are building using the help of mainstream media is not at all good for the country. BJP ruthlessly made strategy to dent his reputation, Sonia Gandhi and Gandhi Family, interestingly I can see all of them are politicaly motivated cases and narrative building for political gains primarily done using media trolling. So, this forced Gandhi family and especially Rahul Gandhi to fight the power, To fight against the power you need to have power, ‍hence he accepted constitutional post, and Priyanka Gandhi following his brother. This is the only way to counter and neutralise forces which are trying to finish you and your party using Perception Management techniques used by US Army as well to manipulate mass perception on particular subject. I don't believe or agree to charges made on him, especially the national herald case and Money laundering one. Subramaniam Swamy credibility is low as far as this case is concern, he can claim, proving such cases is even more difficult. This is a positive Analysis. I support Rahul Gandhi and Gandhi family but not congress ( Congress needs to improve) Also I can tell you frankly it doesn't mean he doesn't know how dirty politics is especially in terms of monetary benefits, probably he should be having more ways of income, but I disagree to money laundering and Public monetary scam as one of them.
