I'd question the long-term legality of these cards in terms of IP (intellectual property); I doubt AISURIX are authorized partners of Nvidia and AMD; you never know if Nvidia or AMD may sue them and/or put a stop to this. The fact that AISURIX has a physical location in a western market (Australia according to their website), makes it more easier/likely Nvidia and AMD to clamp down on them in a legal context versus other companies that are strictly located in China. It's highly likely the GPUs were salvaged off of old/malfunctioning/dead cards and re-manufactured with a new PCB, fans, etc. A similar practice to this which is relatively common in Shenzhen would be those companies who've salvaged old enterprise/server/workstation chipsets and soldered those on to new PCBs and re-marketed them as new Intel X79, X99 motherboards. I'd suggest you contact Nvidia and AMD just to confirm on how legit this is.

The RX580 and it's variants are kind of legendary. I swear this card has had the longest relevant lifespan of any GPU ever. It simply will not die. I've contemplated buying one and building a living room Steam console PC using HoloISO (the OS the Steam Deck uses but customized to run on a desktop, it's not compatible with Nvidia GPU's).
I picked up a MSI-3060-GAMING-X-12G for $380. 12 GB Vram and 40% faster than the $170 1660 super you show. I am starting to like MSI, but that limits possibilities. Oh, and I like the calm demeanor you have. You are much more pleasant to watch than a lot of the computer guys on youtube. Subscribed.

I totally agree, this card is an amazing bargain at the moment. Price to performance is unparalleled. Incidentally, I picked up a used RX 480 8 GB for $50 CAD (about $37 USD), perfect condition, not a miner card, and it works like a charm. It's not in my primary system, but for secondary lighter duty gaming system when friends over, and for media playback, it's superb! Great video.

i had bought a 5500xt from these guys that started going bad within a week. Well, your "bad" review is a lie to be honest. You can't get better than a service that immediately makes right the times when a product unfortunately was defective. Your experience is a 5 star one. It's a 5 star one that involved you getting an unfortunate defective product (as will happen with every company in existence occasionally), but still unquestionably a 5 star one.

@@wyterabitt2149 the issue with me is the fact that they are claiming the product is brand new AND that the reviews posted online are not accurate. As consumers how will we know what's happening if all possible bad reviews are being changed? they even offered to pay me to change it.
It's technically an RX 570 that was originally sold as an RX 580 in China as a GPU. Putting these old chips on new PCBs isn't a bad idea as AMD and Nvidia aren't really paying attention to the budget market anymore.

Chill PC video with Oz on a chill Sunday.
I used to have one of these RX580s. It worked fine for two months, then it refused to give any image to the monitor. I returned it back to the store and bought an RX580 from MSI. Yeah it's a bit more expensive, but feels more secure.
So good that you have alerted people to this Risk! Thank you for doing the good lords work 🙂
Thank you for the video, it is informative and a joy to watch.

I have a 1440p panel on my main rig, but in my living room, I have a 1080p projector. I bought a refurbished RX 580 from Aliexpress for $80, paired with some old parts, and it's pretty awesome. Even the most recent titles, such as Hogwarts Legacy, run just fine on this card, although with reduced settings and some upscaling. However, older AAA games can run on high or even ultra settings without any issues at 1080p!
thanks for this video i actually was trying to do a bunch of research for something for a small upgrade but also a working card as i have a rx 580 from my brothers co worker but it crashes every now and then and its weird cuz its not during anything specific maybe during after hours of gaming or even after minutes of turning on so im at a loss and wanted to buy a gpu around under 200. was giving the 1660 super a look and might go with that, after i might go to a 3060 ti. i was also wondering if you think you can maybe do videos about when cpus start to bottle neck the gpu? that would be nice i dont see alot of videos basically saying " this is the max and best gpu you should get for "x" cpu other then that itll be bottlenecked"
Good vibes, Oz ❤
I've been running MingZhou GTX1660 Super 6gb for about 6 months in my rig. (it was around 110$ usd on aliexpress, and used cards were about 200$ in my country) It is an Aliexpress card (probbably a used mining gpu chip, but on a brand new PCB board). It works great for now, performance is there, and it is cool, never gets over 70c under load. I only changed the chinese thermal paste for a cooler master one (not super high end) and that's it. I had a used Asus 1070ti, and an XFX RX580, they all died after 3 moths of use.( demolished with mining by previous owners)

rx 580 2048sp is a great budget card, amazon 30 days is a great thing too, lack of warranty on the used market is a big blocker for many people.
I dig budget setups, even if I'm not using them myself. Today it's not a question of if something will run, it's about how it will run so even older GPUs are usually fine. The only exception are some AAA games with terrible optimization and those are rarely relevant to justify any upgrade. I noticed this trend or hardware companies acting as if 4k is the new hot stuff, but so many people play at 1080p and it's totally fine while maybe 1440p is the sweet spot if you have more budget. For 60Hz gaming so many GPUs are more than enough and with AM5 getting more and more things out AM4 will only get more affordable.
I’m using the RX5500 XT right now lol. It’s pretty amazing! Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p on medium, sitting very comfortably at 60fps! At High it sits at around 30, but if you’re comfy with lower resolution you can consistently get 60fps at higher settings. I don’t know a lot about computers but it feels really good!
Hey man I would love to see you build a home gaming server! I have been running them on the same computer for a couple years and would like some guidance for home gaming server hardware. I know they are nothing special but it would still be cool.
it's a similar concept behind using older x79 or x99 xeons on fresh new Chinese made x79 or x99 motherboards. I have a e5-2650 v2 used xeon on a Kllisre x79 v2.82 mobo for a Linux Mint rig as my daily driver, not for gaming. I built this back in Oct of 2021. Runs great, and it's speedy enough for my needs. I don't have issue of companies filling that gap in the GPU market that AMD and Nvidia are disregarding. I'm looking in the near future to change up my evga gtx 960 4gb card to something with 8GB down the road. I might be looking at this concept GPUs of used GPU chip on new PCB.
These amazing videos deserve a sub

just bought a rx 5500xt that has the same shroud as this card but a different backplate and is from a different manufacturer (51risc). hasn't arrived yet but from the pictures on newegg it's the same shroud just with different stickers on the fans and a different backplate.
I think the catch was something about the bandwidth or memory speeds being halfed from a standard 580 cause it was a mobile chip or something. Seen toasty bros use one of these.
Got one of these in november from aliexpress for like 85US$, it was a real fever here in Brazil, a lot of channels did videos on these RX 580 2048sp cards, until now it has worked like a charm, never had any problem with it, and I hope it stays like that. They're literally just an RX 570, but coming from a gt1030, they're perfect for me (even more that I'm still using a Haswell i5 lol), never thought I could have this performance for the price I paid, I play all games on high using 900p because of my monitor, and I even play some games in 1440p/4K when I hook it up to the TV (4K is only playable with FSR), all modern games run perfect for me, from RE4R to Cyberpunk, the only one that didn't run was Forspoken (but that game is trash anyway).
I'm surprised you didn't talk about the rx 580 sooner
Im still stuck with a 1660 Super from when i built my system back in Feb 2020.
Talk about age all you want my old ass 980 is still crushing it 🤷🏽♂️! No plans to replace it until I upgrade from my I5 8500. Great video as always Oz!
Great video I watch a lot of tech channels and I haven't seen anyone cover these. I think it's very interesting. I also feel that if this company continues to make out of print cards with higher vram on them at a decent price it will be interesting to see how a heavy vram game will react to them. I picked up Dec a 6750xt 12gig model two fan card for 450 which still is better then the 4070 which is wild to me. Love your vibe new subscribe here.

I've come to realize that many of those tech channels are mere shills for the big companies that sell overpriced hardware. They're never going to talk about stuff like this.
The GPU chip could be new from partners that have never made cards from them and had left over stock which is now going down the line to lower end card makers... It's cheaper to find unused GPU's that are left over in warehouses then de-solder and sell as good as new which requires extensive tests and so on...
can you check out sjs they seem to do the same thing with old gpus?
BTW on Newegg that same GPU is around 70 USD

RX 580 here, solid entry level gaming gpu, can be had for 80-100 euros used, I am at an 1080p 60hz monitor, and haven't even overclocked it.
hey right now on newegg the MLLSE "same card from what i understand" rx580 8gb are on sale for $69.99 after tax and expedited shipping i paid $88 !
Have you thought of checking out the mi25 cards?
It continues to be a sad time for gpu shopping for me. I'm very grateful that a few years ago I had just bought a 1660 at a fair price before the market went crazy. But as I'm finally able to consider a modest upgrade I'm looking at cards costing at least 50% more that have only marginally advanced specs and features. I considered going to AMD for the first time since about 20 years ago, but the advances and competition that seemed promising a while back are just not holding up currently. Considered a Hellhound 6650xt to be a possible compromise and I couldn't help but notice that the "most recent reviews" are about one per month, yet the prices just stand still since it's a seller's market.
I bought my friend a 1660s for his birthday a few weeks ago. these old cards are still great
I hate to say it but I’ve had horrible luck with MSI . I just got a X570 board back and it’s finally working correctly. The turnaround was good , but this is my 3rd MSI board that has had to be sent back over the years . I’ve had a doa card as well . I’m going to give this brand a try .

Yo Oz, maybe you can make a video about the RX 590 GME as well, I bought it the XFX RX590 GME. around USD 110.
What CPU and RAM did you use for the benchmarks?
I think this rebuilding of a GPU from an older and functional die with new vram, pcb etc is a great thing and if it can offer a vg GPU at a great price ….. it’s a win for gamers so I’m all in!🥰🥳🤩💪
My RX 480 8gb playes Hitman 3 at 2k + Quality FSR settings at 60fps and 4k + performance FSR settings at 30-45 fps! The RX 580 is just the 480 with a slight clock boost.
The only KZread that actually finds value over expense close to his heart
I've ordered these cards before and i've had two fail, and one I was sent was dirty with some sort of oil around the power plug for the fans. I do not believe they are new PCB's just cleaned and made to look new.
Dude, with that calm voice and approach you should be on a radio station as you could help and teach people with road rage to take it easy ;-)
The thing about that is that the dyes are from minned graphic cards switched over to a new pcb's i wouldnt trust that it would last very long!

I'm using an RX580 while typing this comment right now. IMHO, it's a great budget card with decent performance. It won't run rings around the new stuff, but the games I use are DirectX 9c. So, this card does more than what I ever really wanted need.
This channel is amazing. Nice to see someone making budget rigs, and saving perfectly usable PC's from the junk pile of planned obsolescence.
Here in asia region, it costs 80$ with the same brand. It's a win-win for sure
Please can you do a follow up quick video where you test how well the VRAM will OC? If these chips have been mined on then it's usually the RAM that takes a beating. I'd be interested to know if that has been refreshed or if it's the same VRAM that - if it's a 580 - has potentially been through both of the mining GPU droughts.

I once fished a computer out of a dumpster that smelled like fire, it was 2001-ish. The PSU has caught fire and killed off most of the components, but the mainboard, CPU (fresh, Athlon 750) mainboard (MSI, fairly nice) and RAM were alright. HDD, ODD and videocard were toast. Didn't care for the videocard, it was just a Rage, which is a perfect name, this is the emotion you experience when dealing with its driver quality. Anyway absolutely loved the thing after i rebuilt it, carried me a while. Kept the case as well, a Codegen bigtower i think, just washed it a bit. I had an FSP PSU in it, a Maxtor DM80 80GB, a random ODD or two, and an ELSA TNT2 at first and then an ELSA Geforce2mx. Driving a nice 20" Mitsubishi CRT. I've done video capture and editing on that PC, edited in Ulead Pro, with 3ivx intermediate, so smooth. With a random bt848 for capture. Printed the results to VHS.
