i'm machinist, my sewing machine arrive next wednesday... will try twin needle but don't know where using it. mods for this machine looks limitless.

with a larger hole, can this machine sew with a twin needle? can it grab both threads.

I have not tried it, but it's a super simple setup. Depending on your mechanical and fabrication abilities, I could see how it might work? The main shaft that holds the needle would need some modification as well.

Is this the machine with 10 bearings built in? Looks nice for the money.

I'm not thinking it's a 10 bearing, but I use a lubricant called Gibbs and it glides through easily. Thanks for the comment!

That looks great for 100$ machine. How long did u need to goof off with it before it worked?

Mine was a gift from my father-in-law, so he cleaned it up before it got to me. With that said, I have received lots of metal coated in cosmoline grease and I use a cup full of diesel fuel and a paint brush to remove and clean stuff like that. I hope this helps and thanks for the comment!

How did you make the base for the machine?

I had some pine scrap wood in the shop and just measured the height of the flywheel and cut it all out to fit. I used a bandsaw to cut the long notch and rounded edges. For the finishing, I just used a propain torch to highlight the wood grain and a damp cloth to wipe off the charing. Everything is held together with star bit wood screws. I hope this helps!
