Just got a second hand unit for a very cheap price. Looks, feels and performs like a brand new unit. I prefer using PW2 over my newer Basic 10th Gen. I just bought 2021 PW5. Still love the PW2.

the differences between the 2 are very small. i would say watch our comparison video on our youtube channel and judge for yourself! :)

Useful review thanks. It seems a decent upgrade from the 4th generation Kindle I have. Slightly worrying that PDFs can be crashy - we'll see how that pans out when I get one.

Great review. I like the PDF part especially as this could be useful in class with PDFs of PPT presentations (converted). It looks like the Kindle displays in portrait only which is a little limiting for PPT presentations in PDF format...would that be correct?

Hi guys, thx for video. Regarding the translation feature, you mentioned "you can translate it to pretty much any language". Can translate e.g from German to Slovak (or Czech) language?

i need your help. i bought a kindle paperwhite 2 last week. from outside the U.S. i'm using it mostly for PDF readings. i heard of an update 5.4.3.2 or so released on march. I tried to update but the update button on my kindle dosen't appear. i also tried to download the update to my pc and move manually but it was downloaded as vlc audio file. may i get some help on how to get my kindle reader update...

Lai Casey actually, yes, the Kindle Paperwhite 2 has one of the best backlights

For non English readers that buy locally this isn't a very good option, but we're running out of lit reader options, and the Kobo since the last firmware is no good... So, this or nothing. How much storage for side loaded books? Shelves options? Thanks!

Can you remove the "Time to Read" (with the location of where you are and how much time is left in a chapter)?

Yeah. If you go on the drop down menu and press reading progress you can change it to the page number, time left in chapter, time left in book or location. I've got mine on the page number and the percentage of how far into the book I am :)

absolutely. having a digital book rather than a real book may encourage some younger tech-savy kids to read more!

no, all you have to do is download the free book, plug in your kindle, then transfer it over to the kindle, that is all :)

Just got my Paperwhite 2 today. I called Amazon and I don't think they told me the truth. Mine has three or four books on bottom of screen. I asked how to get rid of that because I bought the one without adds. Are these adds and I have the wrong one? I was told that these are new releases. Your video doesn't have that in beginning.

No you don't. You need WiFi to use the wiki, but not the dictionary.

Hmm . .doesn't look all that white. And the text could do with being a bit darker. The "time to read" has no use whatsoever for me since I might read a paragraph, then think about something, or do something else etc.

I love my paperwhite; I have a Kindle HD and an iPad but I cannot see either one in the sunlight - this is easy to read in the dark or bright sunlight.
