    GG, I can tell you I actually began to worry how I would be able to ensure I get all the facts and metrics easily accessible without looking clumsy by referring to my notes in a loop/panel interview. These tips you just shared are excellent and might just prove the joker for me when hopefully in the coming few weeks I face a panel interview. Thanks GG, your execution is effortlessly flawless, exciting and easily relatable. I'm grateful.

    Hi GG, thanks so much for all of your amazing content. I had my loop yesterday and I feel I did quite poorly in the BR round - but quite well in the other 3 rounds. What is the chance of getting a veto from the BR if all others were a hire decision? The HM seemed really positive and said I had great answers and data

    I can't obviously offer you statistical data on this. If the data gathered by the other members of the team is compelling and stands up to scrutiny in debrief- it's very possible your Bar Raiser will refresh any not inclined vote made after their interview just based on their data set.

    Great question. In some cases yes. The standard nomenclature is X Manager = L4/L5 Snr X Manager = L6 and Senior Manager/Principle X = L7, Director X. = L8. HOWEVER there are lots of roles (especially in AWS) where this nomenclature doesn't apply. As a rule of thumb when I'm assessing Job Descriptions I assume experience requests are indicators

    Hi GG, I've been watching your videos and found them really useful, so thank you very much. I just wanted to share that I found it difficult to weave my examples/stories that I've prepared and apply it to the questions asked during the interview. Take for ex. the LP of customer obsession, there're all sorts of questions revolving customer obsession, I could have, what I believe is an excellent example but it doesn't answer specifically to the question, except that ya, it's about customer obsession. Not sure if anyone has the same thoughts/experience and do you have any tips that you could share on how to deal with this?

    I’ve heard of very few interviewers tell candidates they can’t use notes. The only time I’ve seen it happen is where the candidates is literally reading directly from them. Have some light notes in bullet form on a piece of paper next to you. Don’t plan to rely on them, they’re back up only.

    Hi GIGI , as u was Bar-Raiser, I was wondering, so each time have a session for a final decision, do u listen to each one with all details , but that's long time, or do u just depends on the interviewers' feedback and they u decide, you are 5 so if each one need 5 mins :) :) it is like 30 mins for one candidate

  • @amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503

    @amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503

    It’s a 30min conversation between everyone. The BR try’s to get a unanimous decision but if they can’t at the end of the 30min the BR + HM make the final call.

    I applied for 2 positions with Amazon and interviewed for one 3 weeks ago and got job offer. My next interview is Monday for a different role with Amazon. You say NEVER repeat STAR stories in an interview. Can I use some of the same STAR stories I used in the first interview for the second since they are different postings? Does the outcome of the interview for the first job have impact on the results for interview for the second job? Can they pull from my first interview notes to help make the decision? That would be helpful if they could because I did well.

  • @amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503

    @amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503

    2 жыл бұрын

    The repeat issue- is relevant to a single application. If you're doing multiple applications (unless they are combining the process), the processes are independent and you're fine to repeat. No data gathered on the different roles won't be used to make a decision on the other- they are mutually exclusive.

    Hi Gigi! I had my loop interviews for L6 on Monday and Tuesday this week. All interviewers except the Bar Raiser and Hiring Manager asked about 2-3 “tell me about a time when” situations with additional follow up questions. On the other hand, the Bar Raiser and the Hiring Manager asked at least 5-8 examples and didn’t drill down with a lot of follow up questions. I found that weird given that these interviews typically cover only 2 situations with follow up questions. Is this indicative of anything based on HM and BR’s questions on multiple examples (which I was able to answer without repeating)?

    @@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Hi 👋 so I work for Amazon, I want to move into the HR department, when interviewing if I’m asked about Data or metrics Right now I honestly would not have a clue exactly what that is. I understand what each of those things are by definition but to Amazon specifically I wouldn’t know how to answer that. I asked a supervisor about it and their response was… that is mostly for managers. Lol I’m not a manager. I can tell you how many routes we have on deck each time I work, but that’s about it as far as data goes. I was just wondering why I would be asked a question like that if I’m not “in a managers” position? Sorry

  • @amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503

    @amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503

    9 ай бұрын

    Ok- so it’s not for “people managers”, so that’s a bit misleading from your supervisor. It assumes you work in a role where you are in a position to track and understand the impact of your efforts. As an example a recruiter will be able to quote things like % of offers to candidates they made that were accepted or a reduction in the average days number of days it took to fill roles they own. For a small number of junior people in execution limited roles it is true that it will be very hard to come up with those types of data points. If you can really impress them with your demonstration of the LPs that might be enough to compensate for the lack of impact data.
