Thanks for this video. I was mostly looking for a side by side comparison of the 7 & 8 tablets for size perspective and you satisfied that criteria. I have several Fire 7's that I mostly use for dedicated single purpose screens as opposed to a more traditional use of tablets. For example I'm a U.S. National Weather Service Storm Spotter and I have one tablet that does nothing but display the app "RadarScope" during weather events. I have another that I use for a remote for my home theater system and nothing else. And another that does nothing but display my Personal Weather Station data. A spare console for my weather station costs around $60 and with the Fire Tablets I get a lot more "bang for the buck". Because ... These can be had very cheaply as refurbs or used on Amazon's outlet store. I just bought a Fire 8 on there ($20) and it hasn't been delivered yet so I was curious as to the differences between 7's and 8's. Because they're so cheap they make great dedicated screens. I don't think that if I were using these as traditional tablets for viewing streaming video, social networks or games that the used/refurbs would be a very good choice. For that you'd want the latest and greatest versions. For a good, sturdy, long lasting, dedicated screen to display a single app for something like weather or remotely controlling other devices they're fantastic. Even if the app you need isn't available on the Amazon App Store it's not at all difficult to side load things from Google Play Store as the proprietary Fire Operating System is just a version of Google Android. The only thing I don't really like about these tablets is that they do not have GPS capability but I suppose if they did they'd cost a lot more. Thanks again for the informative review.

Thanks so much! I need a tablet for college because I read lots of online textbooks for my classes!
