Excellent video! You did a great job showing a clean install and operation of the Echo Hub on the wall. Your time and effort to find the correct POE injectors is really appreciated. You saved a lot of Amazon Echo Hub owners the aggravation of having to return POE injectors that are not compatible with the Echo Hub.

The issue with these Hubs is that Amazon in their great wisdom, did not put an actual Ethernet PoE port on the Device itself! And, the Power supply requirement needs are both 5.2v @2.4 amps And 9v - @ 1.4 amps simultaneously. So thier adapter is sending both over USB using a step down choke process. My thought is one is for the screen power SOC design, and the other for Wifi? Not sure but man, what a pain if you need to send power from a remote location. Especially if your using two pair 16/2 cable and not Cat5e or 6e. The old days, all you needed was two pair to power just about ANY distant device, Sans PoE Access Points. Hi, I bought an Echo Hub andhave it installed on the wall. There have already been 2 or 3 software updates to the device which is good. However I came across your KZread channel when searching for a working PoE solution. I already have a rack mounted PoE switch I just need a compatible adaptor to extract the USBc PD and Gigabit ethernet connection. I am still disappointed that a company lie Amazon can release a product with absolutely no recommendation or link to the correct product! Obviously no collaboration as I also have Ring cameras and doorbell. They are all PoE!! What was the model that you got working did they support Gigabit ethernet as well? Have you had any feedback from Amazon. Thanks for the channel I have subscribed and will be watching your videos from now on.

Got the hub and would like the ring doorbell to activate screen automatically on being press but don’t seam to work can this not be done now ?

I found that the first generation Ring doorbell doesn't work for the instant pop-up on Echo Show devices, sadly. Have to use a newer version of the doorbell.

Hi Just power over ethernet or data too?

@@husondiy hey - thanks for the video. I'm presuming this means the Hub will get its connection via wired ethernet rather than wifi? I'm a bit confused by "you havent tried data yet" - surely that is the point of using PoE? Sorry if if i'm being stupid - I havent used PoE before - thanks!

£65 is absolutely ridiculous. If I give it a few weeks new products will be released which will bring the price of these Poe adapters down dramatically.
