I think my studio is even smaller and I use the trick to film with the cornes of the room on my back and it creates a lot of separation form the background. BTW nice trick with the moving carpet. Just what i needed to get better audio. Getting a couple of them right now. Great video as always.

Fantastic video. Thanks. I am also filming in a very small room - probably about the same size as yours. The lens is crucial. It can make a huge difference. I am also filming about 1.5 to 2 feet from the camera, but it seems so much further. It can really create a sense of space. The acoustics are also a major problem in a small space. Sound just bounces around a small space. I invested in a good mic and some really good quality sound absorption panels. (Not the foam stuff.) You can get some really nice ones that almost look like art work! (If you are in Europe, I really recommend Addictive Sound. Really good quality and nicely made. Not sure if they ship to the US.)

I've actually invested in a tube stretching wall spreader which holds all my light and my top down camera. It's the best thing I've ever sent money on. Now I'm not constantly kicking c-stands with my foot or tripping over them. It's a good idea to get everything in a corner or up off the floor, especially in smaller studios. Great ideas here!

Hey Nolan! Thanks for the video. I actually got the same friction arm and mounted my Canon M50 onto it. For those who intend on buying this item, be warned - it was a challenge for me to keep it leveled. It's easier to level a camera on a tripod, but hanging it from the hot shoe is a different ball game. The weight of the M50 with the screen swung out causes the camera to tilt while on this friction arm. My recorded video shows me on a slant. You can keep the screen behind the camera to maintain balance or you can eye ball it and tilt the camera a little more upwards and then tighten the friction arm, so that when you let go from adjusting the camera, the camera will tilt to a level spot. If anyone experienced otherwise, I would love to hear about your setup so I can try a different workaround.

I bought a sideways boom arm for my tripod and a counterweight to essentially allow me to use a tripod behind a couch but have the camera above the couch. Which is exactly whwew I need it since my studio is in the corner. Got the idea from seeing boom mic stands that clamp to a desk for microphones. Can also be used for top down shots!

I LOVE your everything-on-one-stand set up! My YT “studio” is also pretty much my desk set up for talking head videos... and my living room for yoga videos... love the idea of rigging everything onto one clean set up!

I create all my videos in a very small room as well. I'll have to improve on camera quality but everything is done with webcams.

I dream of that space lol! We have a small apartment and end up ditching things off the dining table, setting up, then taking it down post filming. Repeat whenever filming inside. Definitely try to film more outdoors whenever possible! House hunting at the moment, and day dreaming of a room to have as a dedicated studio!

My whole apartment is that size. I'm just now working on my 2nd video. The 1st was shot with my 24-120 mm f.4 at f.8, and @ 35 mm. This one may be shot with my 14-24 f.2.8 @ 24 mm.
