AMAZING Visibility on Sunken 100+ Year Old Bridge!!! Dive Into Lake Murray History!
Спорт
Dive on the Wyse Ferry Bridge October 16th 2021.
During a very short time (couple weeks) during the year, we get amazing visibility in the deeper parts of Lake Murray. This is usually in October and is caused by the Lake beginning to "Turn Over" for the winter. This process is the cold deep water pushing up towards the surface. Eventually by mid winter, the water temp of the lake will be the same from top to bottom.

What a great video! My family's German blood runs deep through that old Saluda Valley! Be safe my friend, Brandon.

I will allow it. :)
Is there a float connected to the keg again? I have looked for the keg a few times and haven't been able to locate it.

We left a plastic water bottle tied to the mooring rope, but it never lasts long. Someone usually takes it. The keg is at about 18' deep and covered in algae so it's hard to see from the surface.
What are the depths of this dive site?

Top of the Bridge is about 80'. Road deck is about 110'. and deepest part in the old riverbed is around 145'
The water was rough on the 16th. Hope you didn’t go then.

That was the morning we were out there. On dive site around 9am. Finished up by noon. Albeit it was rough it was within our limits. The site is out in the big open water on the lake and more than not when we dive it there is some wind and waves. The wind did pick up more later during the day and it would've been too rough to dive it then.

@@SouthCarolinaScubaDiving I was out there today trying to find it on the surface with my sonar. I may have picked it up but didn’t spend a whole lot of time. Was busy fishing.
