The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family. The song focuses on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time".

Seen the movie: Unchained from 1955 - I remember that one of the prisoner - who been in prison for 9 years, sing this song in the movie.

That was a tribute to the original which was in a prison movie called "Unchained" in 1955 which was about a frustrated love between a male prisoner & his lady....this "Doo-Wop" style of arrangement is just perfection...this goes right to the top of my playlist !!

Home Free did a really good job with this song. Being from the prison film "Unchained", they did this song very well. Some suggested a few songs and they are totally worth checking out...Make You Feel My Love...and Amazed...are really good ones to check out. Thanks for the reaction and happy to see ya.

Tim Foust (bass) has a 5 octave range - he's done duets videos with Austin Brown (high tenor) including "My Maria" and "What's it to you" as well as putting out a doo-wop record of his own. His range is astonishing. Both Tim Foust and Austin Brown live in the area of Nashville - Tim often does fund raising for veterans charities and Austin often joins him in this.

How great is this again? The whole, just everything together like the lead, the beatboxing, the backgrounds, the harmonies, the picture, the black and white recording, the shadow of Adam on the wall, the story behind the song etcetera makes it perfect for me.

Great version of a beautiful song, my absolute favorite version is the original followed closely by the one Austin did.
