What's also pretty amazing was that Elizabeth was performing here with a broken bow that she had patched back together. She is one of From the Top's scholarship recipients and was able to buy a new bow with her award.

Elizabeth Aoki, 12 years old now. Began playing at the age of 5 due to persistent begging towards her mom. Taught herself to read sheet music, accepted at Julliard School of Music at age 10 and earned a diploma *In video uses a 3/4 European Violin that is actually 2 inches smaller than a usual Violin.

Unbelievable intonation, bow transition, string crossing, melody............WOW, you find this rarely only in great ones, but at 9 years old, and her face expression is so adorable and serene. Can you please post more of her recordings! The pianist couldn't be any better, great.

She memorized a 4:30 minute piece of music. Do you know how difficult that is!? Children can have an ability to be in the moment that adults have to work for. I have taught kids with a God given talent where spending hours on a piece is no trouble at all. Not many though. They lose themselves in it. That's the way I feel when I'm playing. Time stops. She is wonderful and if she can keep her head, if her parents can keep their heads, she will be a great performer I think.
