This Jig is very useful for welding round Tubes/pipes. Since round pipe are very hard to weld because its very hard to maintain constant gap between the Tig torch and the workpiece. In that case you can use this jig. This jig is made out of same tube/Pipe which you would like to weld. This jig is highly useful for welding exhaust manifold and stair railing, blasted. I have shown the simple method to make such jig.
𝟐. 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐢𝐠 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐡.
Its very useful trick to weld two sheet metal with Tig spot. In general Spot welding is a type of electric resistance welding used to weld various sheet metal products, through a process in which contacting metal surface points are joined by the heat obtained from resistance to electric current.
But with the help of tig torch we do by producing high temperature at tungsten tip. There should be always 2 mm gap between the ceramic nozzle and tungsten electrode. Also make sure that your tungsten is not pointed. For the spot with Tig it always should be blunt. I did lot of spot welding with this tig torch and the joint made out of this is really so strong. Make sure to maintain 2mm gap and blunt tungsten tip. The area of the spot and strength depends upon how blunt is your tungsten electrode.
𝟑. 𝐓𝐢𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐢𝐠
This is one of the best jig I think in mass production. If you have to weld many welding in straight-line with this jig you can made. This jig has endless possibilities of welding sheet, Tubes, Pipes and other custom work. This jig you can adjust the Hight of your tig torch. You whatever size cup you have you can use.
For making this I used 12mm thick Mield steel plate and cut is to 50mm disc. For clamping the tig torch. That provide adequate grip to hold the tig torch.
𝟒. 𝐓𝐢𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬
Its very hard to do welding on corners. Since there is no support to hold hand and no support for the tig torch as well. What I do I modified the ceramic cup at whatever weld angle you required. You cut the ceramic cup edge at 30,45,60 or whatever angle with diamond cutter with variable speed grinder use at low rpm with water. The only flaw is you can’t see the weld zone. I have used this technique to weld long stainless-steel sheet and it works great.
𝟓. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥.
This is far most the best Tip to make tool edges and bits. Although I have not seen no body welded Tungsten to any other base metal. I used old 3mm Tungsten blank as a filler material and welded to a 6mm mild steel plate. The Tungsten is brilliantly fused with the mild steel and after grinding and makes the edges sharp used it as scrapper and it excellently chip the work piece surface. It gives me lot of ideas for the future as well.
𝟔. 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐦 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐭.
I have found many times during welding of stainless-steel sheets it’s very hard to eliminate differential heat. If that heat is not eliminated then it will warp your surface due to thermal stress you will find waviness on your surface. To eliminate these losses, I have found that aluminum is excellent conductor of heat. Although the thermal properties are less than copper, An aluminum heatsink weighs approximately half as much as a copper conductor having the same conductivity, and is also less expensive.
So during welding if you place aluminum under the weld sheet so that the heat generated during welding will absorb by the aluminum plate. Higher the surface area of aluminum plate more beneficial for removing thermal stress.
𝟕. 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐢𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐡.
I think no body like this method to use tig torch as a stick welder holder. But some time if you don’t have stick welding holder and your argon gas is over and in emergency you have to do welding. Only thing you have to change the collet size that hold welding electrode.
𝟖. 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐢𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞.
I don’t want to waste my tig torch switch so I purchased Tig switch and 2 pin connector and made my own cable connector via soldering. I attached that switch to my stick welding holder and after that I set my machine on Pulse. You can’t believe this is really helpful technique to weld thin stainless-steel tubes/pipes without any blow hole.
𝟗. 𝐆𝐚𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐢𝐠
Blow holes gaps are very common in any welding but the right technique and method will be helpful to overcome such weld defect. To eliminate Gaps and holes you first make bridges with the help of filler electrode. After making the bridge fill the gap side by side using filler rod.
𝟏𝟎. 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐢𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭
Sometimes during welding there are hard-to-reach areas where it's difficult to grind the welded surface in those areas it's always good to use a pickling agent and leave it for 30-45 minutes and it's done. Pickling Agent (Weld bright)

Great idea with the jig. A lot of people struggle with consistent torch hieght and give up. This could help keep them at it getting their timing and work on hieght as they progress. Still need to learn it right eventually. The older a person gets the more the old man shakes become noticable

С «крафтовой» опорой для горелки у него такой страшный шов,представляю какой шов будет без опоры… лишь бы что-то изобразить для просмотров,а не знающие люди верят и восхищаются…😂😂😂
