Any "skim coat" over bricks is going to be a very temporary repair, unless it's just a base for ceramic tiles. The thin mortar coat will probably hair line crack as it dries and shrinks.

Nope. You assume they use the same materials you do. They may have special formula. As a kid, I played all summer in an electric generator cooling pool with this kind of render. There were no cracks or chips. The water affected it not the slightest.

A thin veneer of sand mix cement is going to crack very quickly when exposed to weather. On steps you should always round over the leading edge of the tread to prevent chipping. This looks good to a layman, but professionals know this is not going to last.

What I found amazingly inspiring in this video is the patience of the Videographer. 💐💐💐

100% лучший результат был бы, если все это сделать из бетона. Опалубка - арматура - бетон. Простоит 100 лет. А это - не надолго

@Fred Smith it was a podium to get indian stone on top, so didn't need a bead for that, just needed a make shift bead 😁

If it's a warm climate, it may last a while...Cold climate...Won't last one cold season before it cracks...You have to use special epoxy cement for skim coats like that...

No, you don't need a special epoxy. I did the same thing in New Jersey where we have some very cold winters. I simply used a bag of cement from Home Depot and it has lasted lasted over five years with not a single issue.

@@bigmacdaddy1234 If you did it on your own house; that's fine...I'm a contractor in philly; you can use a patching cement from home depot, I've used it in the bad areas but; coating brick steps with plain Mortar is a bad idea...When I use an additive I can stand behind my work.....I'm glad yours worked out for ya...

там грунт на два метра не промерзает, конструкция сама себе опору создает,там и эти сопли удержат. кирпич видно ,что дрянной, пережженый третий сорт, такого можно и тонну закопать,не жалко

@@user-bn1jx4cn8e это да, норский керам. завод подобный делал и не только он, лет через 15 на всех фасадах где был такой кирпич он стал растрескиваться и осыпаться.

It is impossible that such a structure would last too long. Soon everything will crack.
