Denis Villeneuve Is Only Famous For His Epic Cinematography & Amazing Camera Work, Imagine Watching His Enemy Movie In 3D What Is The Point. That's Why Lord Nolan Don't Convert His Movies In 3D, The Person who suggested to convert this movie in 3D is the most mad & crazy person in this entire world. there is not a single 💔 scene in this entire movie in which 3D effects were used, Please Don't Watch This Movie In 3D. 3D Ruined This Entire Movie It Makes Dark Scenes Very Hard To Even See This. I Didn't Got Any 2D shows in my city because every theatre prefer 3D Over 2D.

Which made the film COLOSSAL. I was arguing with my friends today. They were complaining how slow and boring some of the sequences were. I tried to explain how the slowness contributes to the scale, the weight and the emotion. Jezuz I can't have enough of this film.

And even that slow, at some moments not everything fits into the frame and some sequences are very small, and it makes the film worth seen again and again. For example, when the Baron is hiding so helplessly at the far corner of the ceiling or when the ships of House Atreides are dispatched upwards to the surface of Arrakis from a Guild Highliner.

Villeneuve has many many skills, but his ability to represent the sense of scale in this movie is insane. There's so many movies with big props, from Marvel to Star Wars to so many blockbusters, but Dune feels gigantic, menacing, but also a feast to the eyes. It's not the kind of movie that says "yeah, its big and detailed but you should look at some action". No ... It invites you to look more, look deeper, further in, seek the details. Amazing!

I think a lot of credit needs to go to his team of artists (concept artists, production designer, director of photography etc). They imagined all these scenes and many other variations, and then Villeneuve comes in to give his final word, choosing the concepts he feels tell the story the best. The final choice was his, but the origin is in the art department

Some of the Star Wars films had some visually striking scenes too, but they didnt hold my attention like Dune did. The visual merit combined with the cinematography, plot, et really made me feel like the fantasical places we saw could be real. Every place and every thing on screen had such weight and magnitude to it. The world building was given such crucial screen time in a film that was already 2hrs+. I just really enjoyed watching Dune in theaters haha. Could talk about it for days

Contrasting with his hand scooping up water prior on his old homeplanet, Calladan. It was fantastic on so many levels, the makings of a masterpiece. It was not like watching a movie, it was like experiencing a world. I've read the books many times equally many years ago, and I finally feel it was nailed as a moving picture. I confess I never put much attention to Villeneuve before his Bladerunner 2049 movie, but the man is like an old-school filmmaker, which is a rare and almost died-out breed in modern times. He doesn't just make films, he makes art. One recognizes a great movie when you're not any longer consider it a movie, but where you get engrossed into the world that is presented you lose the 4th wall as a viewer and it becomes... as if it's a real world.

Got some strong Prometheus/Engineer vibes from the Harkonnen aesthetic - the lighting, the colours, the architecture, the pale complexions, the biomechanical back of the Baron. I would absolutely love to see Denis Villeneuve have a go at telling us the untold story of the Engineers. Scott produced and Villeneuve directed on BR 2049 to great effect, so why not? Ridley Scott seems to be so busy on so many different projects, I think the only way we get that story is if someone else directs. It's nearly 10 years now since Prometheus and we still know nothing more about the Engineers and their culture. That story has so much potential.
